game crashing

When i play the game and after a little wihel it crashes. Why must this happen to me?

What happens before the game crashes? Do you hover puzzle pieces over transit-enabled lots?

A little more detail as to what exactly is happening when the game crashes will probably get you more help, but here are some things to check:

Have you updated your game?  It is available on the official site.

Do you have the latest drivers for your video card if you have one?

Do you have a lot of plugins and is one conflicting with another?  Try removing plugins half at a time, or one at a time if that doesn't work, but be sure to bulldoze lots containing them beforehand.  Run the simulator awhile between removals.  Once I had installed two slope mods by mistake, and it crashed whenever I tried to draw a road. 

Have you removed a needed plugin without bulldozing?  Sometimes this causes a crash, but more often brown boxes.  A missing terrain file is a known culprit here for an immmediate crash upon city loading.

Are you zooming or using transit puzzle pieces beforehand?  Both are known bugs.  Don't hop from zoom to zoom, or scroll right after zoom, and don't hover pieces over transit enabled lots.  Once I also had a city that crashed every time I tried to reconcile it.  And the surrounding cities said they were not in need of reconciling.

Have you tried SC4 Datpacker?  I found a lot less crashes occured when I packed my plugin files into one or several  DATs with this utility.  The latest version is available on SC4Devotion.

Maybe this will trigger some thoughts for others, and they also have some ideas...
