Problem with HSRP

Hi

I've installed SC4 deluxe version and updated it on Aspyrs homepage (Rev A, I think). I've installed a few different mods like NAM and others and they seem to work fine. I also tried to install the HSRP (High Speed Rail Project) but it causes the game to freeze. What happens is:

I can open the game, enter a region and modify in God Mode. I go into Mayor Mode, pause the game and start building. Finished building (not using any HSPR-related lots, only NAM) I unpause the game - and then it hangs.

I tried to move the HSPR-folder from the plugin folder and then the game worked fine, so I must be some conflict with HSPR. I would really like to use HSPR. Has anyone got any ideas about what to do?

So, it freezes? and it doesn't crash? hmm...

I would try re-downloading it first. Maybe the download was corrupted.

And can you give me a direct link to the download please? I might try this for myself.

Thats all that I can think of at the moment though. If I think of something else then I will get back to you.

Try using just the regular PPC version on the game and see if you have the same problem (just copy it off of the DVD, and make a backup of your patched version). It maybe a plug-in/UB error.

I'd go with what TEG said. Reinstall the game, without installing the UB update. The Universal Binary "update" released by Aspyr caused some similar sounding problems when I installed it on my Intel iMac. And if you have a PPC mac, there really isn't a point to having the UB update.

If that doesn't work (or you weren't updated to UB in the first place), then it's possible you have an outdated version of the HSRP.  Are you using the old total replacement for monorail, or the newer one that also lets you use monorail, and Ground HSR?  Because the older one might be causing conflicts with a newer version of the NAM.

Actually, it is kind of strange, the UB update, makes the game run faster on G4 Macs, but causes problems on Intels (no data regarding G5s).
