i wouldn't be amazed if this was somewhere else, but the search feature does not like me.

I am running sc4+rh on a hp dv9000 laptop. windows vista business.

my game keeps freezing either for a couple minutes at a time, or just completely locks up. its also locks up my computer. i just my comp back from motherboard/graphics error and a re-image already ced hard drive.

i was wondering if there is anything to do just based on vista, i have checked most of the plugins and mods for errors, and I don't think it is them.

So is there anything thing that i might not think of when troubleshooting. i run the game as admin, and use windows xp service pack 2 compatability.

also since i go my comp back it frequently freezes as a whole, i don't think the two problems are related.

Usually a game freezing isnt because of the operating system. Cant really help you if you dont post your laptop's specs.

If your computer frequently freezes, perhaps this is the reason. What are you usually doing (When your not playing sc4) when our computer freezes?

I had this problem with Vista also, you may want to double-check your graphics drivers. Vista Basic was worse than Premium, but I just dumped both and run XP now. It's worth looking into, finding drivers for my hardware for XP was very easy.

do you have a restore point from before the repair work? Did they install a driver update that can be rolled back?
