Just to remind you folks, pictures should stay in the range of 800x600 and less, even if posted offsite. And it is very recommended to upload them as jpeg's and not bitmaps nor png's please. jepg's can be as clear and sharp as others, just change them with irfanview.Thanks.

Less than six hours to go.

 

I updated the maps in my earlier post with the new information, (nice flag Mickebear ). The geographical one could do with a proper map really, but it serves its purpose for now.

 

Petriknl - I like the idea of an international corporation, that has links to all nations. Could be something to explore once it all get's going. and as for your later post, some interesting ideas there for the CJ name. For the police/fire that covers an entire city, if you get leprop, you can easily change the coverage of any building. ps, thanks for your vote.

 

Simmania - Yeah, i'm starting to agree with the landmarks thing. Not everyone's going to be using them, so i guess it's not really going to be much of an issue. Also, as for you and Pikatchoum joining together, i have to agreee with Petriknl, might be best if you both start seperatly, and who knows what can happen during the actual CJ. I think some stuff needs saving to make the CJ interesting, and the idea that two of the nations may one day unite, wow, makes me even more excited about the possibilities. Nice idea.

 

Mickebear - Nice BAT, good work considering its your first go. I've attempted it, but i have trouble just making a box!

 

Sloppet - Yeah, i agree, needs to be something to catch the eye, will have to give it some thought.

btw ... if anybody is wondering. The flag I use in the CJ and as an avatar was not created by myself. A couple of months I was surfing on the net a bit and found a site about flags of the world. One of the sites was dedicated to unknown flags. Whenever somebody found a flag, and didn't what its origin was, he or she could post it on that site. A bunch of flag enthusiasts then tried to find the origins of that flag. It so happened that I stumbled upon my flag. Even the people on that site had no idea where the flag was coming from ... probably it was once made by a flag creator and placed omn the net. After that I adopted the flag as my own ( for use on the net ).

 

I also vote both for Sloppet and Peng74 to have them on the team.

Dear all: there has been an unanimous vote for Peng74 and Sloppet to enter. But we have 3 nations to give out, so Kekus74 will also be with us.  I have already prepared the maps, and have now given region K to Sloppet and region J to Peng74 who wanted to have it.  I have sent the link in PM to Kekus74 (region I)  to download his map. In case of problems with maps, I have asked Sloppet to troubleshoot; I have sent him both maps

 

As I am going on holiday tomorrow afternoon for 2 weeks (yes, I am going to Istria and Dalmatia, so I am visiting many of those places in the real world map), I have asked petriknl to act as my backup as he did earlier this month when I had my one week holiday.  He has agreed to do this. Could you assist him with best of your abilities?

 

Please see the greyscale map in the link of the whole area as accurate as possible, and in  SC4 game version as presented by our map maker Tijn21. 

 

I have emailed some additional information to the new participants (info only in PM to kekus74, because I don't have his email address yet, but it is essentially same as the emails to Peng74 and Sloppet).

 

Sloppet has opened a discussion forum for us in his SimCity4 website. Could you PM Sloppet for further information, and especially, do not forget to register?

You need to decide during my absence the name for our REAL CJ that starts after I come back. Sloppet needs this information to establish the forum. *Istrinia, Many Nations in One Region* is alright for me too.

Thanks Mickebear, and everyone else. I'm proud, and excited to be part of this.

I received the map and config file from Mickebear, but i'm having a few problems. First i had to resize the jpeg, reduce it to 75% of original before it would even start rendering in-game, and now, when its finished renderring, i don't get nothing, just a plain map. Anyone know whats wrong?

 

I'lll do an update of the maps probably tomorrow.

Peng74: two things: 1st, make your grayscale jpg a read-only file; 2nd, remove cycledogg's terrain from your plugins when you render the map. Let me know if it helps.

Ok, Mickebear, it kind of worked, although all my land was two levels below sea-level! So unless you guys intended me to have an Atlantean Civilisation, i've inceased the level on all city areas by 2, just enough for the land to show.

Peng74, I am happy that it worked. In fact, I have noticed that when you have a lot of black with rgb 0.0.0, the remaining land with RGB 88.88.88 converts itself to 67 = below the water level. I don't know exactly why.

I'm slowly working on my region. Although its taking me a bit of time to raise the land level. Should have it done by the end of today, and then i can start building. I have one question, are we all using the Brigantine water mod?

 

I like the name Mrbisonm suggested, and i like jasperdeman's sugestion of dropping the in. So, how about Istrinia - One Region, Many Nations?

NicolaiS - Thanks for the welcome, i'm looking forward to getting going as well.

Petriknl - I just used the greyscale for the region, which is why it doesn't show your terraforming. I'll have a go at adding them, and see how it turns out. Also, are you and NicolaiS still working on the region history? How does that work, are we free to create history for our own nations, or are there certain events we need to include?

 

Here's a rough map of Lustria. Grey area's are the major urban centres, but there will be more towns and villages to fill it out.

 

 

To all - I have a request. I was wondering if someone could create a simple BAT for me. I've tried myself, but can't get my head round it. What i'm after is a lot 2x1, the base being normal plaza tiles. What i want in the middle is a fairly thin wall with a mural on it, something like this:

Sloppet: I use RegionCensus.. I believe it is downloadable somewhere on the net otherwise I could look it up for you here..

Peng74: Cool nation you have there... Lustria sounds ehh Mediterranean/Italian but your city names suggest a Slavic language.. so what is it hehe.. and about History (this is also for all opther members);

 

I think Nicolais and I will create a Historic Framework.. where you can fill in your history. The Sudoslavia time.. presented by Mickebear should be cool. Sudoslavia was created after WW1 or WW2 and consisted about a lot of our nations and parts of Slovenia and Croatia (?) in the 70s or 80s we became independent and now after a quiet period where nationbuilding was the most important aspect of politics we are looking outside our borders... seeking cooperation etc.. I think this would be ok..?

 

All: I think we need BATs like peng74 was asking for.. like a 1x1 plaza and grassland with our national flag on it... and I need that camping! (lol). And please do not forget to have large scale agricultural land... I think almost all flat land should be rural area's but thats to you to decide or your people have enough food

Petriknl - Lustria is a communist nation, and has strived for its independence throughout its long and bloody history. I can't tell you anymore, because i fear the Presidents Secret Police are listening in.

The history you've created sounds promising, and i have an idea of how to start us off, see sloppet's site.
