Experimental City Journal Preparations : Developing Internations

Thanks for letting us all apply to join this great CJ Mickebear, i've started working on a small tester town, pictures to follow soon.

 

Had a thought about if participating members, do, at some point decide to leave. You could consider, either, handing over there region to a new player, after all, most nations go through governmental change, or, they can be occupied by one of the other nations.

Thanks Mickebear for making things clear, it makes me feel better now and the fear of having to start all over is gone now.

Just look at my nation as an more advanced one, with highways and airports. The Nation is existing since more than 700 years now, when the Norlanders came down from the cold north to conquer this part of the world and simply took it away from the Arcazzians, which were left with only half of their land. But now ever since peace has been ruling in the last 600 years with Arcazzio, but without contact with them. Neither contact was made with the Eastern Neighbor,which I don't even know the name of.

 

When we start actual playing, I will see to it that my nation will somehow wait for you all to catch up, slow down their evolution, and then co-operaste with yours. Maybe we could make it so later that my Nation shows you how to make highways, for better and faster transportation and your Nations will show mine of other trades, like better crude oil harvesting and Mining, maybe even better schooling systems. Anyway, imagination is at this moment the only limit and I suppose we have all kinds of it .

 

If a player should abandon during the play,we do like peng74 says and  do not mention about it until someone is ready to replace it, whether a new player or an existing one. This Nation will simply slip into an Anarchy (Government without gouvernment/leader) meanwhile .

 

I am working on my introduction at this moment, but there's lot to do yet. I will be contacting yousoon, petricknl and alkaola ( glad to see that you're still around) for some historical background of both of your nations, that I may incorporate in my people's history.. I will be shortly talking about 800 to 900 years of Norlandish history.

I'm very happy that you are happy, mrbisonm , with such a dynamic team as ours, sometimes more explanation is needed than necessary. Well, better like that, at least it leaves less room for misunderstandings.

 

I am also happy to see that there are already two interested to participate in our CJ. To both of you, best of luck crafting your 'test' village/town.

QUESTION : something is not completely clear for me : will we start a brand new thread for the CJ and keep this one only for our internal discussions, or is this thread going to host also our CJs ?  (obviously the first solution makes more sense to me...)

 

Besides, I have a lot of work in front of me. Still no flag, no language, no political organization etc...

Thanks Mickebear for handling this discussion. I really looking forward to this project.

 

Mrbisonm; cool idea about the fact that you are the most ehh developed nation and can be an example for the other nations (now: on what source does your wealth come from.. maybe you stayed out of Sudoslavia that could be a good reason because your nation would be stable since WW2).

 

Fredval: mm Istrian Republic... is this saying us.. you should all be united under us haha maybe something to do with independence guerrilla mouvements who were on the islands for centuries... and began their fight against Sudoslavia on your islands? (idea?)

 

I think we should discuss a new way... setting up a website should be cool and also very handy. Furthermore I think we needs some kind of thread or forum to negotiate altough somethings should take place in the secret backstreets of diplomacy (pm's). And mmm I think a new thread in the CJ section for all of us and not for every nation one because that would not be clever to do.

The wealth of my nation always has been agriculture, feeding and exporting a lot to the northern people. Also some precious stones and gold have been found in the Aldasson Mountain range (my nation's mountains) but they are still collected by manpower, since commercial and industrial mining is still not known to them yet (a trade that will be learned from one of the neighbors later).

Norland was never implicated in WW2.

 

I will make a complete explanation of my Nation's details soon with all the *tralala* needed for the other players to know about Norland and its people before we actually get into the introduction of every Istrinian Nation.

 

fredval, glad to finally see your map. Looking good sofar. Wow, some nice spots to build some nice cities and towns.

 

The thread for negociations ,explanantions and gameplay could be continued in this thread, even after we actually started playing. But a new thread simply called *Istrinian Multiple Nations* )or something like this) should be opened once we are all ready to play and that thread is for every member of the region to make their updates.

There should be a rule: No member will be allowed to update his/her region (Nation) without at least having two (or3) new updates from other Istrinia-players in between his/her updates. Just to prevent that someone only will take over the thread with all his/her updates and give a chance for others to have their updates slip in also.

What do you folks think?

To all: Indeed, we will open a new thread in the CJ section when the actual CJ'ing starts in late September, and leave this thread for negotiations. I agree with mrbisonm that updates per person shouldn't be daily (quote from his answer: or a rule: No member will be allowed to update his/her region (Nation) without at least having two (or3) new updates from other Istrina-players in between his/her updates) but rather weekly - we will be 12, so even once in two weeks should give you enough time to prepare for your next update. And that is what is so good with this idea: no stress of having to update daily...

Lustria

My application to join the Internations

 

The small nation of Lustria has had a turbulent history, suffering wars, invasions and countless occupations. The identity, and traditions of its people have been forgotten, but that is all set to change.

 

5 years ago, Lustria gained its independence from (insert one of your nations here ), and is slowly recovering from the economic hardships. Having been occupied for two decades, Lustria once again finds itself in a weakened position, and as a result its citizens have embraced the far right, and the Communist Party has managed to gain power. President Zubelov became leader, largely due to his speeches, promising to make Lustria great, and that every citizen would play a part in the rebirth of this great nation. His impassioned speeches never fail to fill the heart of every citizen with hope.

 

Now, with a massive investment in Industry, Lustria is slowly emerging from its brutal past, and is becoming a major nation in the local area.

I hope you guys like my work and i appreciate being given the oppurtunity to apply. If i don't make it, so be it, but i shall definetly follow this thread.

 

As for what i can bring, well, i'm not a BAT'er, but i have a vivid imagination, and would like to think i can help out with the story telling side of things. Oh, and just in case your struggling to decide, President Zubelov has offered the assistance of his Secret Police.

Edit to add: My idea for my nation is, that, it has recently gained independence from one of the other nations in the region. There would be a bit of tension between the two still, and, after all, we don't want peace and love throughout the region! .

Hmm, first i did nort have any Idea for a application city etc. etc., so specially for you, I'll show you some of the pictures from Vermilion, my newest Cj, which you all know where you can find it... I hope you will like the pics, not just because they are never shown for people till today, just because I love to build european style cities (I live in Cracow, the most beautiful city in Poland, with over 1000 years of history, but I'll not write about it here ). Why do I want to become a part of this SimNation ?? Because you guys are great! Yor work shown so far here is very nice, so I hope you will like my work, and I'll get this light green right bottom corner region part .

All people know, that I had an Enter The Xirtam City Journal, with 5 pages without a city pic (just region pics...fantastic weather, geology map, and more...), but now I'm working on a city journal called Cleres, The History (remember, there will be not only history), and I have 4 pages (almost 5) without any pic of a region/city, so as you can see, I know how to make people comment! But no advertising here!

I also know how to make good cities, so ckeckout the pictures below, and i hope you will like 'em! Here they are!

I agree with sloppet, Cracow is a very beautiful and historic small city in Poland near Auschwitz. I have been there a few times and I love the people.

sloppet's introduction of his city-building is excellent and I have been looking at his CJ's also. He can be considered as stable.....lol.

 

I agree also with Mickebear, all three applications are great. You have my vote.

 

I will be gone for a few days now. (no, not on vacation again this time, but business)
