I read that NAM and some older mods are not compatible. Is it possible to have NAM (or other transit mods) and the Radical mod together? I want to have high demand and transit bugfixes working together without confliction.

Mabye I wasn't clear enough. Here's the mods that I want to work together:

    Transit mod (pathfinding)
    Simolean mod
    Super Demand ordinance

My question again: Will these mods work together? Which transit mod would work best? I read NAM wouldn't work with any mod older than it. Is that true? Anybody got an answer?

The path finding mod is in the NAM with several variations of it. The different variations include speed increases, extended commute time limit (so the sims are willing to travel further), and capacity changes to the networks.

The Super Demand Ordinance Mod is known to corrupt cities, so I would be careful using it. I haven't used it, but I have read the stories of where it corrupted cities....

Well, I took a break because at first NAM worked, but when I got a population of 11,000, I saw a jobless zot and a got mad and uninstalled the game. I also noticed the No Abandoment mod I have no longer works. This is the first time this mod failed.

These are the mods I have in the two Plugins folders:

My Documents folder: sku update 1 (official), Super Demand ordinance, Money park (20,000 a month), NAM (custom highway pieces, perfect pathfinding 10+ commute, Radical Ordinance, and the abandonment mod.

I'm not sure these are compatible. If they aren't, what can I do? If they are, how should I reorginze them?

Okay; I am running the NAM first ever and no other mods that correlate. Region POp. 97,000. I see no problems yet, save one: Once I have a major city growing, my CPU slows to 400% 5 second delay has come up at 20 to 23 second delays now. also the slight jerk is more than slight; it is downright game killer. I cannot do things properly(frustrating mistakes are unavoidable) and no longer have enough time in a real day, to get anything accomplished in my city.

I run a Dell P4 2.26ghz./1000mb DDram/256mb Nvidia Graphics and the NAM is the first thing that has slowed me down! DungeonSiege, Doom, Rise of Nations etc, run flawlessly. SC4 used to also, but no longer.

Maybe I am jumping to a conclusion though? My video card has some fairly elaborate custom settings(smartcard) Is there a setup that works best for the NAM? I can set almost anything up and save it as, SC4custom boot.

A few persons have reported experiencing slow downs, but that's a given for the NAM considering the significant amount of internal files the NAM contains. So I would not be the least bit surprised that it may add to the slow down to some cities, the game &/or computers. The main file that can severally slow down a city/pc a lot though, depending on the city size & pc specs, is the Traffic_Plugin file, namely the Perfect or Radical Traffic Plugin.

The kind of slow-down issues you're describing though (slight jerk btw? I don't follow~care to elaborate?), sounds more like an issue with something that perhaps the NAM isn't the (sole) cause of. My pc specs are a bit lower than yours, but I don't experience that level slow down at all in any cities, even cities of 1M+ population. If the NAM is the cause for it, then chances are it will be because of a specific particular item that might be configured incorrectly (i.e. paths aren't valid for example) which while possible is unlikely, & chances are more people would be complaining about the issue too.

    Tropod:

THe other games above are on my old Hard drive and it is dead.

THe jerk is a start and freeze thing and now my region pop. is, 179,000 and the jerky run and stop is extremely slower now. I mean extreme too. Up to 31 seconds if I plop a strip of ave, while game speed is on slow. My cars start and stop about every 5 or so seconds, while not doing anything, but watching the game(NAM for sure)

I just started a new HDD 80gig Master. Only thing installed is: winXP SP2/SimCity4/PhotoShop/All MODS by SimGoober and Pegusus(no other ones)/BAT/Gmax/Lot Editor/NAM  I have absolutely nothing else on my computer. Only plug-in that modifies the internals IS the NAM. All above was installed before the NAM and I had supra fast play experience. I DL'ed the NAM and it started. CPU is heating up like bakery oven at 62celsius. Before the NAM; much much lower.

@frndofyaweh: The NAM is complex, and you haven't given many details of what exactly you have installed.

    (1) Are you using better pathfinding or perfect pathfinding? Based on the speed of your CPU, I would think perfect pathfinding could be a problem.

    (2) Which automata file are you using? The radical will generate more automata, and again that could cause problems.

    (3) Lastly, you say that you have all PEG and SG lots installed. That is a huge number of plugins that SC4 must load into RAM. I had great problems with too many plugins that were only resolved by upgrading to 2Gb of RAM.

You really need to clear all your plugins, then install the NAM alone with better pathfinding and standard automata files. That is the only way to know for sure if your problem is the NAM or something else.

    Hope this helps...

So sorry everyone. The NAM is working fine now!

WARNING: Build avenues and zones as your city requires them. If you do as I did and grid out an entire large city map; too many lots are attempting to develop at once. After my city matured a bit and lots staged out, the NAM increased its speed significantly!

My game doesn't run slowly like that, but mabye I should use the less radical mod settings like Tropod said.
