Installation Problem With Vista

Okay, first things first, yes i have done a search, and no i did not find any answers, or similar topic etc...

So, i've got my new laptop, which is Windows Vista Home Premium and i decided to install my Simcity 4 Deluxe. I put in Disc 1 and the installation begins. Just like on my old XP laptop, at around 50% of the installation it instructs me to insert Disc 2. 

So i insert the disc and the installation continues. However, at 75% the it says that there was an error trying to install Simcity_3.dat and the installation aborts.

I tried installation again and the same thing hapenned.

If anyone has any suggestions /  solutions i would appreciate it very much!

This is an interesting problem.. I have had many cases like this installing other .dat files, mainly sound.dat...

My biggest suggestion is to keep trying, I was able to finally install after about 3 tries, but that may vary.

Does anyone know if it is possible to do some kind of manual install...?

So, instead of going through the install wizard would it just be possible to copy and paste all the files into a folder...

And would the game work if i did this??
