Game crashes

Hey about 1 day ago my game started randomly crashing. I have no idea why it does though, and it has never happen before. The game loads up and I click a city in the region view. The city loads for a bit and before it opens game crashes.

Anyone heard of this or can help me??? I reinstalled the game and it continues to crash same spot everytime regardless of the city.

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks guys

Hi, mosin33,

If you haven't changed your hardware recently, like right before this problem started, I doubt that is it.  Is it just one city that it happens to?  It is most likely either something added, or taken out, of your plugins folder.  The taken out option might be more likely, as the game might still need it if the lots, etc., are still present in that particular city.  But the former could also be the culprit.  If you are sure you haven't removed anything, I would try loading a totally new city without any plugins, and gradually add them in until I recreated the problem.  Then you will identify the responsible plugin.

If you're using a no cd hack that could be the problem. I use one so I don't have to use the cd drive on my laptop since I'm sometimes away from outlets for a while (2 hour breaks between classes ). I noticed that using one will tend to CTD often.

Another problem could be an overload of plugins or it could be you uninstalled part of one and not the whole thing. Hope something helps!

Although it didnt help much for me. It still crashes a lot. But I learnt my lesson about saving the game often.

I just got a new PC late last year (dreaded Vista) and loaded the game. It also has problems crashing, I've tried changing shadows setting to "low", seems to have helped some.

While the thread is here I may as well add my own bug.

I've just started getting a bug where the game crashes at 50,000 people. There is no warning or tell tale signs, it just sends me straight back to the desktop. Any patches for this or help otherwise?

I had the same bug as you too Moison33! Just uninstall and reinstall(Well it worked for me anyway!)
