after i downloaded a mod to add in some additional medium industry buildings, the tiles under were blue, and some buildings were build on grass, or so i saw. so i thought it wasn't a big deal and i deleted the mod and the packs which were supporting the mod. i still kept BSC mega props JRJ vol06 and BSC textures volume 03 (which had vol 01 included) to support a mod i had to keep, highway walls, you know the ones you plop on a slope.

all was fine while i was building my city. then early on when my appartments grow, i saw something out of order.

probably the most annoying thing i ever saw. i didn't know what to do. i was afraid even if i deleted all the mods that it would stay this way. the tiles are messed up, its like a checker board!

if anyone has a solution to this problem, it would help real much. thanks!

Umm, the pattern you are referring to is natural. Try turning your city detail option up to high so that there is less, that-ness. I don't understand your entire first paragraph, maybe you could make your point a little more concise?

no actually, even with high detail, the checkered tiles still shows. and what i was trying to say is, i downloaded some growable medium industry buildings (because i like a wide variety) but when i finally got to grew them, the tiles underneath the buildings (that i downloaded) were either grass, or blue, like the blue that surrounds your region, that kind of blue. and it really ruined the industrial-like atmosphere going on, so i deleted the growable buildings along with its dependencies.

All of those blank lots behind your apartment buildings are where the industrial buildings you downloaded grew, correct? Then those are the blank lots from where they were. Your game knows that something was there, but since the files of what was there are gone, it only shows those blank lots. They will eventually (usually) be grown over in time, or you could demolish them to get rid of them.

As to the original problems you had with those industrial lots, the reason why the tiles underneath did not look right was because you failed to download a texture pack that they needed. Without the proper textures, you will only see the textures that you do have (such as the grass) or to the blue underneath the map.

tungston: as far as im concerned, my apartment buildings came with maxis, i didnt need to download them. knowing that, i still dont dont understand how its still possible for a missing dependency to mess up my apartments to.

his divine hand: are you saying the dependencies i downloaded replaced the tiles that were supposed to be behind my apartment buildings? i thought i had all the dependencies needed.
