How can I use my old region after a reinstall?

I reformatted my drive for a Vista upgrade, and reinstalled Sim City 4. I had a booming region built on the gauntlet map, but now when I load it up, all i see is an endless plain of grass. I can import the region again, but none of my cities are there :/

- I saved my region (and plugin) folder from before. Once Sim City was installed, I just copied them into the game directory.

- I downloaded the Rush hour patch from EA and installed that.

- Vista, 2Ghz, 4gig RAM, Intel GMA 4500MHD VCard.

Uhh, help?

As CaptCity indicated, the regions must go in the Documents\SimCity 4\Regions folder, the regions folder in the Program Files are for a backup of the default regions.

I hit the 'Delete' button by accident instead of the 'Edit', and then stupidly said 'yes'...

My original post (before Tungston's) did ask if they were placing the folders in the Documents/SC4 folder.

No, still blank. :/ I don't get it; the cities in the region folder are different sizes. My downtown city's 3 Mb alone. Shouldn't all that data show up in game?

Have you tried manually importing each city into a new region? Unless your computer isn't recognising your old cities (which means you have a far bigger problem...) you should be able to recreate your region city-by-city (just make sure the config.bmp is the same first!).

Its more time consuming, but at least it should work
