Welcome to The Cressas: a beautiful archipelago of 7 islands in the Mediterranean sea, just south of Italy. Influenced mainly by Italy and Croatia (formerly Yugoslavia), the archipelago is a lush group of quiet and mysteriously enchanting in the heard of eastern Mediterranean. In the middle ages, the islands' existence was unknown by mankind, until in 1618, when they were discovered by the Italians. It immediately underwent colonization, but because of the steep and rough landscape of the mountains, moderately-sized cities were only able to be developed along the coast. The tropical weather and gentle sea breezes became ideal as a vacation spot, and soon people from all around Europe began to visit the island.

Farmers struggling with droughts and land cost would stow away on merchant ships heading to the island, and would set up a farm in the port's nearby hillsides. The Cressas were occupied and influenced mainly by Italy, but in the early 1900s Italy agreed to give the archipelago the right to semi-self-govern, as its own state under the watch of Italy, as a friendly 'protectorate'. In response to the ever-increasing modernization of Europe and North America, the islands passed an ordinance that would forbid the development of high-rises and apartment buildings, in an effort to keep the sacred and peaceful culture of the Cressas. And to this day, they remain untouched by modern society...

In 1618 when the Italian explorers first came across the main island 'Alta Cressa', they set up a fort on a cliff overlooking the main harbour, protecting the governor's house, and eventually a small village developed under the protection of the Italian army. Soon, more trade began to prosper in the Cressas, and eventually the main harbour was expanded and most people moved towards it, setting up the main town as it is today. Yet, the small area around the fort still holds presence as a watcheye for the harbour, and today it is a desirable area to tourists.
