How to get freight train stations working

In SC4, no matter how much industrial I have, neighboring cities, the freight train stations show 0 use.  Is there any way to fix this?  Passenger stations are working fine.

First, your rail line must be connected to a neighbour city. And second, if there is a road connected to a neighbour city and if it's shorter than the rail, nobody will use the rail.

Get the "No Trucks" Mod by Urbanlegend and block the industrial area so the trucks are forced to use the freight station.

What size city tile are you using?   I've never got them to work on a small or medium tile because the roads aren't that long.   I have seen them work in the middle of a large tile.

They work in the middle of a medium tile as well, though you'll probably still have more freight trucks than trains...
