Hello 1.gif

I don't know how to create my B.A.T. buildings and i hope that this topic is at the right sub-forum. This topic is just a question and not a demand 2.gif

Imagine a building 4.000 meters tall, that it would works like a city! This is the case of the X-Seed 4000. Le's see what Wikipedia said:

The X-Seed 4000 is the tallest building ever fully envisioned, meaning that the designs for construction have been completed.

The X-Seed 4000 "was never meant to be built," says Georges Binder, managing director of Buildings & Data, a firm which compiles data banks on buildings worldwide. "The purpose of the plan was to earn some recognition for the firm, and it worked. "Its proposed 4,000 metres (13,123 ft) height, 6 km (3.7 mi) wide sea-base, and 800 floor capacity could accommodate five hundred thousand to one million inhabitants. It was designed for Tokyo, Japan by the Taisei Corporation in 1995 as a futuristic environment combining ultra-modern living and interaction with nature.

Unlike conventional skyscrapers, the X-Seed 4000 would be required to actively protect its occupants from considerable air pressure gradations and weather fluctuations along its massive elevation. Its design calls for the use of solar power to maintain internal environmental conditions. A sea-based location and a Mount Fuji shape are some of this building's other major design features — the real Mount Fuji is land-based and is 3,776 m (12,388 ft) in height, nearly 224 m (735 ft) shorter than X-Seed 4000.

Some estimate that the cost to construct the X-Seed 4000 structure may be somewhere between US$300-900 billion, in 2006 dollars.

Can we have this titan at Simcity? 19.gif

yea, if you want it to cover the whole large city block. plus it could take months to create and request at the official request thread.

Why would anyone want this? It's a terrible design.

It doesn't use space well at all, and it looks hideous.

Agreed... Its horrendous. And it would need to be broken up into something like 30 small city sized sections (64x64 tiles). The only way to actually appreciate it is from the region view. Imposable amount of work for something that is not even attractive. I wouldn't get excited about this one.

Well technically if it has a 6km base diameter, in a circle form, it would take 36 small city tiles to place it on, or one large and 3 medium tiles. So yeah, it would look retarded. And whenever you had one of those cities you A. Could not building anything other than this huge lot, and B. would be able to see the huge slices taken out of the building. Who wants to see only a 1/4 of it?

Also, it's just not technically possible. Remember all the problems with making Burj Dubai since its 900 m tall or something, this is more than 4 times as large.

Well the problem is, the max size for a lot is 64x64, so you couldn't even skimp and use a large city tile. The height is something that might be possible, but not at all reasonable. I know 2ch.simplayer made some coruscant towers that were a few miles tall, but then again, this is way taller than those.

Good thing is, you would be modeling so roughly that it might be a simple job, being that you only had to show off at the REGION render, and so no nightlights either lmao!

Looks like some attempted 'modern' design from the 50's... 26.gif Erm, Todd, it would be possible if modded as an overhanging prop, I think...

Completely 100% possible...

If you're willing to model it that is. Through my experience there is a model size limit too, along with lot size, but all this can be easily bypassed!

Just divide the model up into large blocks similar to how s3d mapping is divided into 256px by 256px squares and assemble the model in the reader program. This would take much work but it is possible!

Even though there is a 64x64 lot size limit, keep in mind that buidlings don't have to be limited to that size. You can make a building far larger than the lot that they fit in. You can trick lot editor and simcity into thinking the buildng is a lot smaller than it really is using the reader program.

The only problem I see that can come up is how the building will be rendered in region view. I don't know if simcity will allow region rendering outside the region square. You may be able to see parts of the building, but there may be large visual prblems. A way to bypass this is to also include lots that would fit in surrounding cities as well...

I think its possible.

as for the size, just take this giant domelike structure one japanese batter made, that pops up every now and then in those scifi-cjs

certainly possible. and to be honest, I'd love to see such giant nonsense-buildings like this.

you know, like archologies, only bigger and cooler.

but then again, something like this is a very very time-consuming work and we're all people with real lives... mainly anyways.
