Seasonal Trees, please

Ive started building my highways in a new way -- on hills that raise the highways 15 meters off the ground. Ive been doing this in my downtown areas and so far it looks pretty good. Anyways I want to have ploppable tree lots, preferably ones that are seasonal and have postive effects on environment, land value, etc (this way street lights will display on the adjacent highway). If anyone has any good suggestions, please post!

BTW, I have access to SC4devotion, so please dont limit suggestions to just simtropolis.

Does anyone know of any seasonal trees that don't require lots? (like the regular trees which you place one by one on empty space or like the God Mode trees)

You can get those at the Three Rivers Region Exchange over at SC4Devotion.  I don't think you even have to be registered.  Scroll down near the bottom and you will find them just above the Mossy Limestone Rock Mod.  There are also some seasonal tree lots (a pack of 70!!!) that range in size from a single tile to 24x24 for covering large areas with changing seasonal forest.  That way you don't have to spend all day click... click... clicking.

One thing to note about the mayor mode ploppable seasonal trees is this:  they do not change with the seasons.  They work like the trees you may already have.  That is, one click plops the first model, and clicking multiple times without moving the mouse will rotate that model to another, and then another, etc.  These each seem to have eight models: two copies of each seasonal tree, presumably so that if you click one too many times you don't have to bulldoze the tree you placed by accident and then start over.  So, the click-plop cycle, if I remember correctly, is spring, summer, fall, winter, spring, summer, fall, winter.  Again, these do not change as Sim time progresses.  If you plop a fall tree, it will remain a fall tree throughout all twelve Sim months.

Each type of tree is contained in its own .dat file, so you can delete any that you don't want.  They will appear with custom icons at the bottom of your mayor mode flora menu.

You can also make a tree (or any other prop, for that matter) into a ploppable by following this tutorial written by Jeronij.

I hope this helps!

Cool! Thank you! I'm slowly adding these to my entire region! They're great, especially PEG's

I'll be following up on what I'd figured out doing ploppable seasonal trees this coming spring. In the meantime, all the trees suggested here really make your quads come alive. I also know that Brian (c.p./cycledogg) is working on the first new trees he's done in a while.

Show us some pics you'd like to share at some point!
