You're using driver version 7.15. The latest version is 8.12. Try download the latest drivers first and see if that fixes it. If it doesn't, try running SC4 in software rendering mode. You can change that setting ingame (options menu)

Ok, the new drivers and running as admin seem to have fixed my problems, but now i have a new one.

None of the effects work, like construction, clouds, waves, smog, traffic and pedestrians and i also have big yellow and white boxes appearing in region view.

Aha, I knew it, the outdated drivers were the problem. 1.gif As for the new problem, make sure you've turned the graphics settings up in SC4.

Got the same problem. I just installed the game on my new comp, with Radeon HD 4850 and Vista 64. Everything is updated to the latest versions, no change in the in-game settings fix it. The box thingie only seems to appear if I make a change to the region. If I don't't do anything in the region then it doesn't bug out like that. Really annoying, I love Sim City 4 and want to play so bad.

Now that is a shame to hear. My favorite game.... gone 15.gif

    EDIT:

I've been reading that people are playing the game with Vista, and some even with vista 64.  I'm wondering if it's just an issue with the vid card then.  The game does load fine, and I've even been able to save and exit from cities to the region without that graphic problem afew times.

Yeah but I am not sure this issue is Vista related.

Don't any of you have Vista 64 and play Sim City 4?

Im having the issue where vehicle are not showing and building radiuses dont appear until after teh building is placed. like I said no peds or traffic. there has gotta be a fix

I have a friend who plays this game off of Vista x64, not a single problem in sight. He uses an ASUS P5KC with 4GB DDRII-800, HD2900XTX with Catalyst 9.2, and the most current patches for both windows and SC4. I tried it with Windows 7, stable and fast. try this link to see if it helps.

May I also suggest installing DirectX 9 if not already.

OK. Got another problem for you guys to solve.

I get 'tearing' or 'ripping' whenever I move around in my city. The only way to get rid of this is to either zoom in or out. I'm running XP on a P3 with a Nivida 8200. No other graphics problems besides this. I changed my resolution and DX to 8 but still get the yellow lines and a torn display.

    Any help?
