Sims don't want to work in my industry

Here's what happens. I have high demand for industry. I zone for industry. My industry grows, but only like 10 of my sims work there. Even if it's only a block away! If there are commercial zones slightly closer, they'll work there no problem.

Here's what I think is up. I need less commercial/more residential. I need to dumb down my sims. What's my best bet?

Are you using any mods like superdemand mods? Because mods can drasticly affect gameplay. I sugest reviewing the contents of your plugins folder to see of there are any conflicting mods.

Also if you're using industry quadrupler or farm job multiplier make sure you delete the other dat files that you don't want. I.E. if you want x5 farm jobs delete the dats for x2 and x10 etc.(or at least remove them from you plugins folder)

Dumbing down your sims is exactly what you need to do.  Build a large low residential section near your industry, put like one low grade school there and thats it.  Low wealth sims will work for your industry more than higher wealth sims who are educated will.  Reserve your commercial zones for a section of town where your sims are more educated.

i used the mod that reduces demand for industry...and seam to have the same problem...
