As for what I'm getting, I honestly don't know.  Possibly nothing.

Well, I want a laptop, but I'll probably have to wait until I graduate to get that.

This Christmas I think we are all getting new cell phones. 4.gif As for anything else, I have no idea!

Snow tires for my VW. My city has already announced they are not going to plow as much, or use much salt this winter, because of not enough money. I am excited about snow tires.

I won't know until the 25th.

The only things I really want are guitar related, such as a new amp, a multi-effects pedal and an acoustic guitar.

Boggy, I agree with you. As I get older, it's gotten harder and harder to think of what it is I want for Christmas or my birthday.

But, this year, I think(hope) I'm getting an iPod Touch since I lost my other iPod a few months ago. As for other things...there's nothing else I really want/need, so I have no idea what to expect. 3.gif

Hopefully for me, either one of three things:

- A mobile phone upgrade coz my phone's over 2 years old

- A new iPod Touch (2nd generation), with 32Gb of memory for the speakers

- Some CDs of my favorite artists, carried from the Philippines coz my aunt and uncle are flying out to Manila for Christmas and New Year

Addie you get an ipod practically every year.

I've been learning how to play guitar, and I'm hoping for an electric guitar for christmas.

Well, I'm hoping to get a Wii! 29.gif I think it's a great family oriented game system. We asked my fiances' folks for one as like a "whole family" type gift. I really hope we get one! Other than that, I really want a new vacuum but I don't know if I'll get one. 22.gif

Hey, All.

Well at this point in our lives (I'm 58 and my wife is 57), there's not a lot of "needs" in our lives and the "wants" tend to be fulfulled throughout the year.  This year, we pretty much bought for our son and grandson and our soon-to-be daughter-in-law and her daughter.

I bought my wife a bunch of Clinique cosmetics and she is giving me five months of weekly piano lessons.

That pretty much sums up our Christmas.

Regards,

Gary (Vandy)

same here... though I never wish for anything, I like to be surprised. It's rather about getting something than what I'm getting. I'm happy about what I get, no matter if it's useful or not. I don't want people to feel obliged to buy me something fancy.

I asked for nothing, I got nothing, I gave nothing. When I rant about the bastardization of Christmas, I practice what I preach.

I will cook the entire Christmas dinner later today as I do every year, and no one ever complains about that.

Oh...gosh. I got far more than I expected this year!

I had the DVD I wanted (Wall-E), plus a number of others that I wasn't expecting. I got the few books that I ordered (Dream of the Red Chamber, and various Art Books), but I also got quite a few I hadn't expected. My Mother bought me a steam iron (yay!), and some pillows and bedsheets for College. A portable fan too.

But the most special gift that I received wasn't even from a relation, but from my Mothers friend:

She gave to me a 150 year old set of oil paints...in their own mahogany box, with Chinese ink and brushes, all antiques. Rescued from her grandfathers warehouse store when it was sold, so it's pretty much the only one in existence. It's engraved amazingly. There is also a set of 100 year old blind-end lead 3B pencils, the ONLY ones of this type in existence. Also, an amazing little black box, engraved, containing several 100- year old leaflets detailing how to use a colour wheel and oil paints. And finally a HUGE framed drawing of a Georgian manor hallway, the one from her grandfathers store, very old, and a smaller sketch of a Georgian study in the store, also very old. They are pretty much priceless, and they were passed down to her by her father. As she has no family left, she's given them to me. I am exceedingly honoured.

That's quite a gift, and an honor indeed. Congrats, Boggy!
