I can't change my detail level

So, I've got a new pc.

It's an Intel Dual Core E8400 overclocked to 3.8 GHZ/core. I've got 4GB of ram, and an ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2. So you would think SC4 RH would perfectly run on Windows Vista.

And it does. But when I try to change the graphic detail, the game says I have to restart the game in order to have the changes effect.

So I restart the game. But when I check the graphic detail screen again, nothing has changed. So I'm forced to play the game with

Visual effects on average/medium

Number of cars/sims and shadows on low

Drawingspeed of the buildings, texture quality and citydetails on high

Colorquality on 16bit and no clouds

Rendermode is software

Changing the PC_VAN_THOMAS-config-log.txt in the APPS map doensn't seem to help either.

I think I might be able to change some things in Graphics Rules.sgr using notepad, but I'm afraid of ruining some things.

Can someone help me? Thanks in advance. 4.gif

The problem is most likley the render mode you are using. Software doesnt use your graphics card (which is hardware) and is for people that have a older card. It uses programs on you computer to render.

Try changing the render mode to Hardware, and put everyting to high. Then restart the game and see if it works.

Done that and It didn't work. The only thing that was changed was the resolution.

    Yes. I've downloaded both patches.

Update-SKU2-TO-P2.EXE can't patch anything because the data files aren't the ones he needs.

    Update_SKU2_TO_P1_B638.EXE works perfectly.

    Still no changes. 15.gif

    Sorry for the doublepost.

I've un-installed the game and re-installed it afterwards.

    No changes.

I've installed the game on WindowsXP because I thought there might be a problem because my Vista is 64bit.

    No changes.

I've installed the game on C:\Program Files etc. on Win XP.

    No changes.

I've took an ingamescreen so that you can see on which settings I have to play.

    (it's in Dutch btw. )
