Religious Building Selection

Dear Stex/Bat Building community,

In most large cities across the world you will usually find religious buildings throughout the city. Though the church bats on this website are extensive we need more of a religious building selection, like mosques and Hindu temples. Dont get me wrong the Alabaster Mosque by simggober is magnificent. But, I am sure many of you in our Stex community would like more of a selection. So I am asking of any of our skilled bat designer to just take a look at some of these pictures that I have included and just to keep it in back of their mind if they are in need of inspiration.

whats the issue?  seems like this is a bat request, but this is also a religous building thread.  yes, there are some on the stex, but the vast majority are christian.  i can't think of more than 5 non-christian churchs.

i think russian orthodox are also overlooked, only st bazils is in the game here are some more russian cathedrals:









also the temple of heaven in china which i think should also be considered, and its a little less complex to BAT

I might try a mosque (a modern style one) but as with most of my ideas they never happen but its on my to-do list

There's always Spanish architect Antoni Gaudi's Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Familia (its full name), in Barcelona, Spain.

They begun work in 1888, I believe, but work was suspended after the architect's death in 1929, after he was hit by a trolley while standing in the street, observing the one completed tower. Work didn't continue until after Franco was removed from office later on in the 1900s. When completed, it'll be the largest Christian structure in the world.

I think it's funny that the Maxis-provided Sagrada Familia is the same exact model that was used for SimCity 3000, but rendered and exported for SC4.

i thought gaudi was hit by a tram. never mind. i forgot to add this pic to the collection of russian orthodox, i wonder if anyone recognises it, i think its in st petersberg but im not entierly sure, after finding it on google a couple of months back i couldnt find any extra info about it and im dieing to know what it is

It would be a great religious asset to the cities not to mention a great tourism magnet, don't you think?

The Barbora Cathedral is amazing..Always go there when I'm in Prague..

 

I haven't visited the other one yet, but plan to do so in September when I go to Russia for a few days..That cathedral is built entirely of wood..not even nails were used..
