simcity crashes ahhh help me!!!!!!!

hey guys well went i open a city and after it is done loading and the game clock starts running then it crashes

my comps specs are

microsoft XP service pack 2

Intel pentium 4 3.20 GHz

1 GB of RAM

currently i have 2.45 GB of plugins

Computer Specs:

What is your graphics card?

How much Virtual Memory have you allocated? You can find this in the "system" icon in the control panel.

Have you turned off all background tasks, including virus scanners, etc?

Plugins:

Have you added any Plugins recently?

City:

Has this city ever loaded correctly?

What did you do in the city last time?

Did the game crash while saving the last time it was saved?

my graffixs card is an nvidia quadro NYS 285 with 256 MB of memory

i have turned off many if not all background tasks

i have allocated about  6144 MBs of HD space

i have added plugins recently but i don't think there is a plugin conflict

Does your computer have dual core processors? I've had this exact same problem. One thing I found that has worked so far is just using one core for the game. If you have a dual core processor, go Cntl+Alt+Delete and get the task manager open. Click on processes and find Sim City 4 on the list. Right click and go to Set Affinity. It will have all the processors listed with a check box. Uncheck them, so that only one is left checked. This should make it work better.

Now, whenever you turn the game off, it will reset back to 2 processors. There is a program that you can download that is supposed to set it to one processor everytime you turn the game on.
