Hey thanks for all the support and also Thanks for another Trixie, that was unexpected.

Yes. NoG is not over yet, still got some things to finish.

For the last months I had a hard time to access the CJ and now that I finally got highspeed connection, I have encountered other problems, but which are being taken of as we speak. Some of the cities in NoG are crashing on me as I load them, something that I expected that one day would happen. I have more than 19,000 files in my pluginfolder and for the second time in four years I will have to take the time to clean it out and up.

This will take some time though and real life is really keeping me busy since spring, but hopefully this will end after the Christmas season and I will have the time to clean the whole pluginfolder and get rid of what's causing the crashes, but also get rid of many lots and props that I don't use anymore.

I will then be back with a better ending of this CJ, because another one is already on the waiting list (Yes , you heard me right, a new CJ is on the way, different and better).

Meanwhile I will be dropping in and maybe show you some teasers? Interested? 2.gif

On page 116, you posted a pic. of Nexis City with lots of skyscrapers, well one smaller area, and one large area, but in the large city pic., could you maybe make a list of a few of the BAT's in that picture if at all possible. If not since it probably seems like too much then nvm.

Like where do you find all your BAT's? There is no way they are all from simtropolis, like how do you find the names of all the buildings?

(combined double post - please use the edit button in future)

Kinda hard for me to remember all where I got all these BATs from since I am collecting them since 4 years and I have over 30,000 files of them in my pluginfolder. But if you could encircle them on that picture and post it back here, maybe I or others will be able to help you with many of them.

Btw, Nexis City (page 116), will be my next update. It has changed quite a bit.

You're right, many of these BATs aren't from Simtropolis. There are (and also have been others that are dead now) different sites to download from, most of them can be found by looking at the thread below (many asians).....

    https://www.simtropolis.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=153&threadid=51212&STARTPAGE=87

....and others I found with the years. Also I must add, there are a little over 300 Nexis Lots and BATs (mine) that have not yet been uploaded anywhere, some Highrisers.

For the Continuing of this thread, I am still working on cleaning the Pluginfolder and once it is finished and those useless Lots have been removed, I will continue. Sorry for the delay.

GlobalHaze, Well, if you got windows , then you have mspaint to open the picture with. Just click on your toolbar, choose Execute and type in mspaint and the program will open. Use the brush and color and circle the bldg's, then save and upload here.............Easy.

I know it's been awhile, but I am still cleaning out my pluginfolder. Not easy at all to figure out why I can't enter some cities and others not with aaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllll these many freaking files in my folder....ouffff.

I started though to take some pics in parts of the city of Nexis that I can now enter without a crash, and I will show you some teasers this mid-week, or even slowly start my updates with them. (will see that on tuesday night).

Sorry for letting you all wait this long, been busy and then this darn crash within some citiytiles.

Btw, I went to see your new CJ superchad, some nice roadwork, I like the layout of it.

Just checking by, Fred.  It's great to have some time to catch back up on the first 119 pages.  I don't envy you having to clean out four years of accumulated plugins- hope it all works right when you get that done and throw the switch...

    Always great to be here.

Oh man, I am still having problems with some of my cities. Some I have been able to open now and even play with them, but others still have a problem of crashing. Out of the 7 tiles that cover the City of Nexis, only 4 are playable, the other three still have some problems, when I build something, zoom in or out, or just open the city. I think it is more than just one file that causes this and I think I have found one so far. I will continue to clean it out and maybe even re-install the game, but I WILL make it through, so I can update. If it takes too much time, I will simply jump over the Nexis City update and continue with another area like the Ganoga Valley, while meanwhile fixing the others of Nexis City.

Glad you are all patient.....well......lol.....I don't give you much of a choice, right? 2.gif

You wouldn't happen to be stalling just to keep this the longest city journal would you?3.gif I really hope you can fix those problems in your cities though. I'd really like ot see some more in-game pictures again, you've always have a very interesting region to showcase. I've been a lurker on this journal for awhile, and I'm still trying to go through all your pages from before. Once again, good luck on fixing the problems. I'll have to check out your new cj too.

Oh, c'mon now, I honestly hope that you didn't mean that.

I have more than 21,000 files (one of the biggest around on this site- 17 Gb's) in my plugin folder for Nexis of Genesis, to keep my region versatile and interesting. Besides this, I have more than 60 mods in my C/Programfiles/Maxis/SC4/Pluginfolder. All this is keeping me busy quite a bit to check and clean out. I have to check each file........and I hope you realize or can at least imagine how much work that is.

I play with 4 different pluginfolders, each for different regions. The Nexis one is the biggest one and it is giving me problems with some cities only, not all I can open and some only play little before they crash, but most though have no problem.

Don't foget, that real life exist in my case also and it is not every night that I can plunge into that folder to see where the problems are. I own 3 well established buissnesses with 12 people working for me. That takes a hard bite out of my free time.

Ok then, if it is like this.....................then........If I cannot solve the problem for my next update of Nexis City this week, then I will simply jump onto the Ganoga Valley update next week and to the final one of the Capitol City of New Saphir the week after ,without bothering with the biggest city of Nexis city, Gloryville and Pharaon. These are the ones I have problems with (besides Sandhill, Axis, Lichen,Unforgiven and Treeland (which we already visited)...........oh man ..........I still hope that you didn't meant that for real crazyyaya......geeeez, that would disappoint me a lot and doesn't really encourage me to make overhours to find the problem quicker. Thanks...................15.gif

Fred, thanks for continue to plug away at bringing us "the rest of the story."  I'm sure our friend's remark was meant tongue in cheek- it's hard to be patient sometimes when the thing you're waiting for is bound to be so good.

Take your time.  Don't cut anything out- we'd all be the worse for that.

    David

I still can't open some cities of Nexis City, nor Gloryville,New Saphir, Nexis City and some others, and cleaning out my 22,000 file pluginfolder will still take some time. But I decided to jump these parts of the Final Update for those who seem to be unpatient. I will find the cause of these crashes, which I never experienced before, will fix them and come back to these Cities that we will leave behind for the moment. I have tried to separate the folder into two parts and even three ,then four and still the game crashes sometimes in certain cities. Some cities (2 of them) I can't even open anymore. I don't know exactly what it is, but it is more than one file for sure. Entering these cities with an empty folder is no problem at all, no crash, except seeing hundreds of all kinds and sized boxes......lol

Anyway, while I find out what's wrong with it, I will bring you first the Ganoga Valley Update and then after maybe another area whichever is fixed first. Anyways, there will be 4 Ganoga updates in all. Part A to D. Enjoy now.

    Ganoga Valley.............The Endpart 14

    Part A............Ganoga/Thunderlake/Agony Bay

First let us get back into the story of Nexis a little bit to remember what the Ganoga valley is. The Ganoga Valley is a vast territory to the northwest, mostly uncivilized and wild. It has volcanoes, hotsprings, unstable mountains, strange gaz fountains and liquid Motylene sources (used for fuel) and some very strange currrents in the Ganoga lake itself as if......well, we don't know yet It also has one little town where everyone works at the same place, a military base and a scientific Research laboratory. There are several access roads to this region, in fact three of them, but all end up at one official entrygate at the end, that is being protected by the army and Government of Genesis. You and me cannot enter here, we need a pass, but you can have a look around from the upper mountains down to the gigantic valley. Since I have some intimide connections with some folks that enter this region regularly, I will be able to show you some pictures of some of the most highly protected areas in the Genesis region. Now, make only sure that some of these pictures don't get too public.....you never know what they will do to you if they'd find out. I heard some strange and scary stories, let me tell you.

In the east, the Ganoga Valley is limited by Grand Falls, a touristic area today and mostly owned by the Jim's Family, and that we have seen updated before and in the south it is the Tenzel River system that draws the limits for the Ganoga Valley. In the north and west it reaches far into other regions, but not yet accessible and beyond this is the Loch Mess Region, which actually we all might see one day in the futur in another CJ. ( I said Maybe)

    1LochMess1.jpg

The vast Ganoga Valley consists of a longformed lake that collects the water from the surrounding mountains, which were the first to form on Genesis (go back to the first four pages of this CJ to see the beginning) and also the outlet of the Ganoga River that comes from the Loch Mess Region. Here the land of Genesis was born on this once watery planet.- The water from the lake exit by the Ganoga Canyon to empty into the Tenzel river at the Raging River Junction, which is called so because two rivers meet with different water temperatures and create different flows of rushing waters. The entry of the Ganoga Valley in the north is marked with the second highest Bridge in Genesis, the Cloverlain Bridge, a tourist attraction that draws thousands of people every summer, and it is not accessible during the colder season.
