BAT nightlighting

I already read the omnibus article that explains how to get night lighting on BATs you downloaded to work, and I did exactly what it told me to and it still doesn't work. Does anyone have any answers? Thanks!

you need to get the B.A.T. update. in the top of the sc4 general discussion - there is a "get maxis files here" thread.it contains a link to the "b.a.t. update" download - download it and it should work

As blakesterville mentioned, the SC4Update4BAT patch (toward bottom of first post) is needed to get the night lights. What exactly is hapening when you try installing the patch?

For the patch to be applied, you need the Rush Hour or Deluxe version of the game and the most recent patch so that the game version is .638 (check the game icon properties in the Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4\Apps folder). Also, if you have used a no-cd file, it may not take the update. Hope this helps a bit...

Would you keep us informed? I have the same problem with nightlighting. Does reinstalling help?

Version .610 is Deluxe that has not been updated. I'm not sure how a no-cd crack affects version numbers (having never used one for SC4), but it does affect the .exe in ways that won't allow an update. Uninstalling and reinstalling the game should clear it up (save a copy of your regions and Plugins). After that, install the patch to update to version .638 that is needed for the night light patch. You should than be able to install the SC4Update4BAT patch for night lights.

Another thought... Did you happen to save a copy of the original .exe file? If yes, you might be able to replace the no-cd version and then patch the game. This has worked for me on other games, but I'm not sure about SC4.
