Vlad,

As I said in my post. If the building was not plopped, then I am sorry about making such a deal about it.

It just got me thinking when you said it was one city and no region, I just figured that you had a one city region. The region shot does add some credibility to this issue, in my opinion.

I was not trying to flame you, and as some other people have said, I NEVER said your city was crap, I just said I thought the building was plopped. Honestly I kind of like this city. I like how it moves through the hills. However, it does look kind of weird out there by itself.

Anyway, keep up the good work. (or plopping, jk <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/2.gif>)

Personally, i like the avenues.  Because of the way RH and well.....SC in general was made, you absolutely need high-capacity roads (avenues) in places where there is a high traffic volume.  And about the skyscraper crap......i know you didnt plop it <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/2.gif>  Im on your side

I am inclined to agree with Dolfan.

After seeing these new pics, and the new stage 8's that have popped up, as well as the region pic; I think you have made your case valid that it isn't plopped.

I can say this though, it looks like you went a little crazy with the God Mode Tree Cheat. This is not a bad thing though, as I wish you would be able to access the God Mode tree tool after you incoporate your city.

Well your city looks even better than before. Great work. Whoever said it earlier is right. I think you are at the point now, where you can slow down and start a beautifying campaign, then when you are satisfied with that, bring in the construction cranes again.

One more suggestion, you should go to the mods section and check out Joerg's bridge height mod. I think it would make some of your bridges look better.

i don't know why people argue about the avenues.
Where i live, there are many roads that has more than 10 lanes.
And like he said, 80% roads are 4-laned.
But like many others said, those remaining 20% are a very small streets or 2-lane roads.

Still i like valadmir's city.
Very good mass transit1.gif

thanks!9.gif

Finally some nice comments.

Yes i did keep using the tree thing, but only becouse it is extremely hard to get any development going in an exact area that you want, i have nticed that when i plant trees in an area when i am in God mode, then there is alot of development in that area.
That is why when you look at the spot where i first started to build my city, there is very little change, that is becouse i dont put trees there and i want to keep it like it is now, its just fine.

And yea there is no cars at all, lmao, sorry but my computer is not very good and it is my first time with a large map and its very laggy when there are cars moving.

Keep the comments comming

And i dont really understand what you guys mean by stopping now and adding some beauty, or a campaign like sumone said...

I know, but I really see no reason for the avenues but your stuck with them now because of the developemnt. Maybe a tip for the future would be using some side one-ways for extra capacity. Just an idea. you city is coming up great. I like the uniqe design.

Well, I don't like it much because it's pretty much a skyscraper farm, and there is so much unfilled-in area that it isn't (IMO) too good looking.

I agree with RobK on that one. You do have a lot of undeveloped areas. It would probably be best to fill them in with a little high tech industry here and there, and then the rest with low density residential, with a few blocks of med. density transition areas.

What I meant by a beautification campaign is simple, and you can use some of that unzoned area for it. Just take about 20 to 30 min. and create a large park, or a bunch of seperated smaller parks. This will do wonders for the aesthetics of your city, not to mention demand. You will see a lot more high wealth res. in the areas of the parks, and if they are close enough to the commercial areas, you will see more development in those areas as well.

Just something for you to think about. If you still don't know what we mean by beautifying your city with some parks, then PM me and I can help.

The city looks quite good. The road layout is perhaps too close to a dull grid, but you've tried to add some variety so it's still good.
However, there are some details that can be improved in the last pics you've shown.

Firstly, the roads that go along an EL line on both sides are usually one ways, not roads. It would be good to change them into one ways. It actually seems that you forgot 1 ways in these last pictures.

Secondly, the mountain is too close to the river. As I assume that the first goal of this city isn't realism, it's not a big problem and you might not want to change that.

Thirdly, buildings between the waterfront avenue and the beach aren't common. Houses are OK, apartment buildings look strange.

Also, the banks of one of the river are cliffs. If you want it to be like that, then it's not a problem. It's too late for terraforming.

Finally, there is a highway/avenue loop around a small neighborhood which look strange and too big for some reason : (sorry, I borrowed your pic)/idealbb/files/1623.jpghttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files/1623.jpg width=749 border=0>

I forgot one thing. Keep pics BELOW 640x480, even if the forum rules state 800*600. They're more easy to read, they take less time to load and they're usually more neat.

You might also try to enhance your pics, but they're already quite good as they are.

This is a great city! Good job.

Nice region dude, keep it up. On a side note, I can careless if he is making his region/city 100% realistic. Truth is no one can have a city/region 100% percent realistic in this game, considering the limitations. Instead, I admire him for making a city/region to HIS imagination and not stiking with the SAME old thing, like most on the CJ. Granted I enjoy seeing people make cities/regions as realistic as they can. For intance, Silentworths region of Terracina is awesome. I can read the CJ over over and not get bored with it. However, truth be told not EVERYONE has to confine themselves to building a realistic city/region. There is alot to be said for those who invision and create their own things out of their OWN imagination. So rock on dude, I loved it and I look forward to seeing more great pics from your city/region.

You realise its difficult for people to objectively view your CJ after you have been so rude about theirs.

never seen this city before, more of a fantasy style of building

not really my thing but it looks interesting enough.

i would also consider a water mod and maybe some midrise to make
    it more realistic.
