Avenue Tunnel Traffic Problem

I have built many avenue tunnels across many cities. And I have been having problems with all of them. Long after the tunnel is constructed, no traffic will appear on both (or sometimes one side) of the tunnel. It should be a busy route and have much traffic, but it doesnt!! Can anyone explain why? 

By the way, I digged the tunnels on flat ground but using smoncrie's digging lots' hole digger for rail (8metres).

Oh another thing is that with U-drive-it, I'm able to go through the tunnel, but just one tile before I reach the other side, my vehicle disappears. It always stuffs up my missions.

Visual traffic isn't that good of a gauge for actual usage, use the route query tool to check the usage of the tunnel (assuming you have RH or Deluxe Edition).

SC4 is made to make the traffic visual effects random, due to EA's attempt to reduce SC4's system resource usage.

My bad. I realised that the route queries are all fine. There is through traffic. MUCH through traffic. Haha.

Still, UDI is a bummer. Just can never drive through the avenue tunnels.
