Well, I am having this problem too. I have two 2x2 trash zones that won't empty, and are road connected. I have 6 trash burners too, and my graph says zero trash in the City. What could keep those last bits from getting burnt up?

disconect the road connection to the dump (move the trash burners about 3-4 spaces away) and the trash will go away after some time without the road connection.

No luck yet doing this. Any other suggestions?

You have to give it time, the garbage will decompose over time like in real life.

You may need to add more waste burners to get ahead of the waste, then once the landfill is empty, and bulldozed, you can remove the extra burners.

Just wanted to give an update. I got the trash pile down to one 2x2 zone, with no roads attached as suggested. However, the graph showed that there was ZERO trash. I was thinking "How am I going to get rid of this 'nothing' I can clearly see?"

Then, actually by mistake, I was able to use the de zone tool to get rid of the trash heap! Who knew!?

If you wanna see why I was so needing to deal with this problem, check out my latest CJ entry and scroll down :-)
