Hi there, I'm a new user and I just wanted to say hello.  I've recently completed a degree in town planning, but I'm currently unemployed, so to pass some time I dug out my copy of SC4 the other day, which I haven't had much time to play before now (even though I bought it a good long while ago!)  I've been getting very frustrated with terraforming (it's almost impossible!), so I came here via simcity.com to see if I could get help.  I decided to join and shall be installing some of the mods, etc. that you nice people recommend!

Welcome to Simtropolis! enjoy your stay, if you have rushhour of deluxe, I highly recommend the NAM (Network addon Mod), you can read about it in my sig, you will also find a few tutorials that might be useful.

Hi, thanks!  I have Deluxe, so I've already followed your $%&^! tutorial and downloaded everything (except the terrain editor - the link isn't working).  I've still to install a couple of things and see how it all works, which I'll do tomorrow, but so far, so good!

yes, the link to landscape designer is broken for some reason, but I uploaded it to the Stex a few days ago because of the link problem you can find it there.

I've been enjoying raking through the site so far.  I've already downloaded all the recommended $%&^! stuff, CycleDogg's texture and tree mods, a PEG rock mod, a couple of PEG's water mods, PEG's police car mod, PEG's alleyways, some associated stuff, and a couple of BAT files!  I'm extremely impressed with it all!  I'm going to get a few more things, particularly a suitable terrain (I'm hopeless at terraforming), then I shall start building!  If it works out, I might make a CJ.  Sadly my computer skills are lacking, but I'll try to contribute something constructive!
