Hey there everybody!

I've been with SimCity since the original game in 1989, through to 2000, 3000, 3000 Unlimited and of course SimCity 4. Maxis and SimCity has entertained me for nearly two decades.

Shock and horror. I am running stock SimCity 4 Deluxe without any mods or new BATs beyond custom maps. I had trouble with stability after modding SimCity 4 about the time it was released - once bitten twice shy.

Here is where I am going to cause a ruckus - I don't consider Societies a canonical continuation of the SimCity franchise. Yeah, point at me and laugh, I'm old-school.

Hey and welcome to SimTropolis, I'm new here too. A moderator will probably tell you that this topic goes in the, "Introduce Yourself Here!" topic but it's ok I had to learn that the hard way :/ .

Anyways I agree with you. SimCity Societies was not a continuation. The aim was for a more general audience. (To bad for EA that it did not go so well.) Luckily we still have SimCity 4 with presumebly good graphics while we wait to see what Cities XL will be like. I'm hoping for a more challenging game.

You might aswell laugh at me because like Za said most of us hate SCS. lol... We laugh at the likers... 41.gif Check out the Societies board... 5.gif

Welcome to Simtropolis. Enjoy our BAT's, Mod's, Maps and Lots. I'd say get the NAm it'll make the game 2,000,000,000x more enjoyable.

lol the first thing I downloaded was the NAM because everyone was like, "go get it...It helps so much." 17.gif

Now I agree, it's amazing. This mod fixes the games biggest bug, transportation.

(did I mention it's easy to install too??? 42.gif)

The NAM helped me so much by  creating bigger cities. I remember that areas were always getting abandoned because of commute time...

agian it fixes everything...

You are not the only one.

Welcome to Simtropolis, glad to have you here.

and, yeah, this should have in the Introduce Yourself Here thread.

We can inspire others through witness so that one grows together in communicating. But the worst thing of all is religious proselytism, which paralyzes: “I am talking with you in order to persuade you.” No. Each person dialogues, starting with his and her own identity. The church grows by attraction, not proselytizing.    - Pope Francis
