Crash at city start up.

When I try to open up a city in Simcity4, it crash right back to desktop. Why does that happpen?

Does your computer meet the minimum requirements for the game? If so, you may want to try turning down the Graphics Acceleration (how to do this depends on your Operating System, but it's in the advanced bit of the Display Proporties). If it still doesn't work, then your best bit might be to either back up your \SimCity 4 folder and re-install the game, or contact EA support. It may seem strange, but they are likely to have the answer.

I execcd the minimum requriements. It can run with all of the settings high. Somehow it crashes and when I contact EA support they do not answer.

EA support hasn't the slightest interest as they know the game is solid.. however it is possible to get into a "crash situation".. in most cases a result of either incorrect installation or bad custom lots (or bad combinations of lots) or poor management of the add-ons.. the game itself is quite solid and operates on 100's of thousands of pc's without issues.. and those issues that do exist are very well known .. not to mention discussed in bazillions of threads on virtually every SC4 web site.. a search of content will likely guide you through whatever problem you have..
