I seem to be haveing a problem using the  Insert/edit Link function.

I see a lot of people rename the links they use to websites and pictures ect.
Iv never been able to figure out how to make that work nomater what i do with the options. 46.gif

If some one could post something on the proper way to use that function it would be a big help.
I use IE if that makes a difference.

Thanks.

Easy Bakes...

For waht it's worth, here's how I do it...

Open the page you want to link to.

Copy the Address of the page.

Open the Forum window you need and do your typing.

Highlight the word(s) you want to make the link.

Click the Insert Link/Edit button.

Paste the page address that you copied into the URL window.

Select OK and that should insert the Link.

Hope this is clear. Might be an easier way, but this works for me.

Hope it helps...

hm...

sorry for highjacking this thread here, but I think since this is link-related, it's ok.

so whenever I want to make a link (FF3 that is, that seems like doesn't work on my machine for whatever reason), it all seems to work in the editor, but when saving the post, the link turns dead as in the target adress changes to javavoid1234567891011andsoon, I think you know what I mean, in spite of having updated all plugins I've used with FF2 when everything still was fine...

EDIT: all links I have done ahead of downgrading from FF2 to FF3 work, of course, and I can make links on other forums using the different codes (html, bbl nbc, cnn, fox and so on), so I think it's something between my FF3 installation and the text edior... maybe marriage crisis...

EDIT2: but this is only happening when I initally create a link. it changes in the protocol box to "other" and this javavoid thingy turns into the adress (without any help) when posting. but when I edit the link in the made post, it works fine...

wierdo...

    Well dang it that works.

All this time ive been doing it backwards.

trying to convert the URL itself rather then typing a word and tying it to a link.
