Maps for Mac??

Hello there

I'm tired of the premade maps / regions in my game,

and I'm not that good at terraforming. Then, I've found all

these cool regions on the site, but it seems like they

can only be used if you have some of the map design software,

which only works with a PC? I'm a mac man.., using Rush Hour.

Can you make them work on a mac using something else?

Can anyone help me?

thanks

Hi,

Can someone help ? I've downloaded a map from teh STEX, read the tutorial, followed all steps, BUT :

the problem occurs in step 18. My computer can't see the new region folder. Any idea how to open its eyes ?

S.

I am also having this problem and would like some insight. I am using a powerbook g4 so I'm thinking that it's not an issue with my keyboard. Any hints or tips?

I'm posting here again to see if maybe someone has some insight. I follow the tutorial, I get the dialog box where I'm supposed to find the regions folder and pick the region etc. Unfortunately, the dialog box just does not recognize any attempt to interact with it except to close it. I can't click anything, tab around, shift-click, ctrl-click or beat my keyboard with a rubber chicken while clicking.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or what. Otherwise the game runs perfectly on my system, I just cannot interact with the dialog box in the process of trying to render new regions.

I'm playing on a PowerBook G4 running OSX Tiger.

I think I am having the same problem as you. I go through the whole process and when I get into the region folders and can see the .bmp and the greyscale.jpg but I will select the .jpg and nothing happens... just the browse window closes and back to beginning.

That means that the image that you have selected isn't a greyscale image (or at least, thats what I remember as being the problem)

You need to open it in an image editing application and when saving select greysale. That should make it work.

Hmm, not sure. I have tried several different maps from different creators and still no rendering...

Unfortunately there isn't one.

And for everyone having a problem not being able to navigate folders and files once inside SC4, I usually move my greyscale file to the Applications folder so it's in the first menu that comes up. I hope that makes sense.

I was being an idiot the first time and didn't realize the original map I dl'ed was made by SC4Terraformer. Once I found one that didn't require it, it worked fine.

For those who can't navigate past the initial opening of the dialogue box, I couldn't either. So what I did was just put my .jpg file directly onto my harddrive, since that's where the dialogue initially opens up. I had no problem after that.
