Why does SC4 constantly crash with Vista?

this is a really annoying problem. I had no issues when I had XP, but now that I have Vista, it is almost unplayable having to re-launch the game. The pc is 10 times as good as the xp one, but seems a lot worse during gameplay though.... anyone know what the deal is?

I've noticed Vista to be a little worse with crashing than XP, but I don't think that Vista can cause all that. What are your computer stats, your plugins, and your version of Vista?

installing to many plugins in vista home basic may cause many crashes. so i recommended you using vista ultimate or home premium. btw, i want to know your OS.

I do use radical plug ins and very rarely have had a crash. Reason might be, I have created a different user when playing the game where I have drastically minimalized my system to such an extent, the only things running are Vista and SC4. Runs flawlessly for me.

umh, you are using AMD Phenom, which has lots of error on it. thats why! AMD Phenom sucks like hell, which is more sucker than AMD Athlon versions. i recommended you change the motherboard and the processor. say no to Phenom.

did you read what he posted? he is using AMD Phenom, which has faulty codings on the microprocessor.

    to RON-E:

if you want to use AMD, please use dual core processors only. i dont recommended you to gaming with Phenom (more than 2 cores) microprocessors.

Can someone please help me im having the same problem i bought a new PC with high enough stats and SC4 keeps crashing after about 20mins i thought i didn't have enough RAM so i bought more, now my stats are AMD dual core, 500G Hard drive and 3Gigs of memory, 128mb dedicated Nvidia Card, my plug-ins folder is at 1.34gigs this isn't massive and it used to run fine on my older slower laptop with XP, should i just give up and go back to XP?
