Kolyanas Building Guide in Excel Format

I really appreciated Kolyana''s effort in putting together that building guide. But it''s hard for me to use in web page format, so I put it into Excel. I get the feeling that I''m not the only one who would appreciate a slightly quicker way to sort through the info, so I''m putting it up here.

I have the Building Data on the first tab, Demand Info on a second tab, and a third tab that just looks at key info from the building data - YIMBY/NIMBY, Demand Cap relief, Mayor rating, and Footprint.

Buildings with some YIMBY/NIMBY of 100/-100 are highlighted.

Thanks to both Kolyana and Sharr for thier work with the building guide. I've just d/led it and will look at it in the morning. I haven't used a guide yet to aid in my building but since it is so readily available, why not? lol

Nice work - I'd love to get my hands on a printable version oneday, but this is certainly nice.

I've recommended to Dirk that he add it as an available download, so *fingers crossed*.

My thanks to both yourself and Kolyana for taking the effort to do this.

It's a lot more user friendly now and really is quite useful, especially as I am still a relative newbie at SC4.

I bought the guide and foudn it very useful - I'd encourage its purchase to any SC4 fan.

However, I also foudn that the information i needed was spread over half a dozen chapters, so I took the liberty to drag it all into one location.

thank you to both koly and sharr, i found the information usefull but as i cant see that and the game at the same time, it will be tough to remember everything... but i opened it under MSWorks SS and it works fine, just shows a small windows asking which tab to open.. everything still works or so i think 9.gif

Thanks to Kolyana, for putting the info together.

If you click the basic data tab, you should be able to print that out on two pages (or 1 if you print on both sides) using .5" margins. Demand Data should easily print in 1 page.

    I'm greedy, I want it all 3.gif

I wonder if I could get the font small enough to get it all to fit on a landscape print and get a well positioned page break? i could live with 2 or 3 pages like that.

BTW Sharr, did you retype everything, or were you able to import it from the webpage?

I did a lot of cutting and pasting. There were some extra columns, though, on the left that were throwing it off, but I edited them out.

Unless you want to look at it with a magnifying glass, I think you are better off just printing the basic data ;)

It's already printing at 7pt. To get EVERYTHING on one page would require some really teeeeny point size. However, even at 3 or 4 point, it's just too much info to put on one page.

It might be easier if you use legal length paper as you can get all the columns, but the rows might be tricky.

We can inspire others through witness so that one grows together in communicating. But the worst thing of all is religious proselytism, which paralyzes: “I am talking with you in order to persuade you.” No. Each person dialogues, starting with his and her own identity. The church grows by attraction, not proselytizing.    - Pope Francis

I printed out the NIMBY/YIMBY by editing the sc4.html that is in building guide folder after you extract zip file, just changed the Table Font size from 10px to 8px,then printed out in lanscape.

    Either One.

    Yuppers.

Can you download new regions okay?

Regions work fine due to the fact that they are a straight away .jpg file...

What version of IE are you using?

    Fine, not slow at all.

As an example, here is the Url that comes up when trying to get the html version :
    ftp://24.141.6.242/SimCityBuildingGuide.zip

And result is "Cannot find server..."

It's actually very odd indeed, the number of downloads gets higher every day, but still seems that some of us are having probs.

    Thanks for your help Kolyana.

I imagine that when a link is clicked, it auto-increments the counter regardless of download success.

Thanks for the tip-off, I'm surprised someone else didn't bring it up before!!!

I've emailed, PMed Dirk and posted about this in the Mod-board, hopefully we'll get an early fix 9.gif
