GLR that comes with NAM causes game to crash!

Whenever I place the GLR for NAM, after a little while, the game crashes without warning at random to the desktop...

This really happens at random, and sometimes it takes just seconds after I load the game....It isnt the mod its self, because I managed to build a city without using the GLR just fine..However, once I place a few stations and some track, and then press play, after a random amount of time the game crashes to the desktop.

After going through this about 50 times, Im fed up and I want to build a nice and big city with the GLR but I can't!

Which leads me to think that it might be the little automata trains on the GLR that might be crashing it.....

Ive installed the dual core optimizer, and Ive also used the command line command by setting the affinity for the game to just one CPU.

My specs are   AMD 4600+, 8800GT,2GB of RAM.

Im running windows xp pro with all the latest updates, and the lastest drivers for my videocard.

Anyone have any ideas?

Also, how do you place a road roundabout? I can't find em

Thanks alot!

Are you by chance selecting a GLR (or other NAM) piece and moving the cursor around. You may be experiencing the NAM-Transit Enabled Lot bug. If you have a NAM piece selected and touch a transit piece (stations), the game will crash. This is a know issue and the only way to deal with it is to be careful when using the pieces.

As for the roundabouts, road roundabouts are created when you make a two by two square with roads (same for streets).

I don't think I am, but Ill be sure to be careful. It happens when I set the game into motion after setting out all the rail, so I don't think that should be an issue...

    Thanks for the roundabouts

I have a similar problem with GLR-in-avenue. I laid out a line with a few stations, and after pressing play, the game would crash to the desktop unprovoked after a couple of minutes. It's definitely not the hovering issue, since I'll just be sitting watching without even touching the mouse (and it will be set to the query cursor, NOT a transit-related piece).

I'm pretty sure it's not a conflict with previous versions of NAM, since I installed the April 2008 version after a clean reinstall of the game.

    Any thoughts?

Thanks, I'll give that a shot. I also want to try that BSC Cleanitol app, but for some reason I can't download it off of LEX. The page loads up fine, but there's no link on the page to the program (I even checked the source code in case I missed it, but no dice)

Addendum: after installing the EP1 update (as well as all the other requirements for nightlighting, i.e. gmax, B.A.T.) and loading up my city, I let it run for several sim "years" while scrolling around and zooming in and out and so forth. Thus far, the game hasn't crashed, so it looks like my problem's resolved.

henjin, see if your game is updated to the latest version; that might fix your problem. I guess plopping GLR makes the game unstable under the older version.
