Individual City 'Reinstall'

Hey All,

I was wondering if it is at all possible to 'reset' individual cities within a region, without having to re-load the whole region, thereby resetting ALL cities?

One city I have started laying some basic roads/highways and seaports in has suddenly decided to crash the game every time I load it. No other city seems to crash. I've brainstormed all the plugins I think I've used in only the crashing city (that is, those plugins I haven't used in any other cities. Some plugins, such as the RHW, are used in my other non-crashing cities, so I don't think its those that are making the game crash) and removed them from my plugins folder; But to no avail.

Therefore, I think the best solution (especially considering I hadn't done that much in the city, so I won't loose to much in resetting) would be to start the whole city over, and hopefully not repeat the plugin-crashing issue! However, I don't know if this is possible.

If anyone could give me some advice on this issue, Id be very greatful.

Cheers,

Ben

There is a button to distroy a city.. its called "demolish" and is in the terraforming menu as I recall.. I rarely use it. The symbol is a plunger-type dynamite igniter Otherwise you can use the "import city" function by putting a copy of your city in the "download" folder and then importing it into your "bad" one..

    Thanks for that SC4BOY,

Would you be able to guide me through how I could use a copy of the city to replace the crashing one? I can't use the first option, as I don't get to that stage in the loading process, in order to press the 'destroy city' button. I tried re-downloading the region file and to find a city file within it, but I havent been able to thus far. a link to the region file: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=19047

You can do basically the same thing in the region view, if you save the city in the region download folder in case you find the problem so you can import it back into the region.

The city is imported in the Region View.. not the City view.. its in the same icon as the "change region" menu.. the copy function is done in explorer, not in SC4.. but the import has to be in SC4 region view.
