    Perceptions.jpg

Welcome to Perceptions. I want to start by saying that this WILL NOT replace New Corsica (my current CJ) at all. This is not really a city journal, but more like a mapping journal.

    Let me explain:

In making maps for the STEX, I have found that sometimes the untouched natural beauty of each map is sometimes more impressive than the city building itself. Thus, I set out to show you all this truth.

In addition, I had several PMs, E-Mails, and comments on my maps expressing doubts as to the quality and detail of my hard work. I hope to show those who sent these messages that my creations are up to par.

Talk aside, I leave you with this small teaser until the first update!

    See you soon!

The word 'maps' piqued my curiosity. I've, sadly, never visited New Corsica, but am impressed with the maps I saw there. I'll look forward to what you come up with her.

Hey smarty, looks top be an excellent showcase of a different kind of journal.

Just a little critique on the presentation of the image.

I'm unsure of the huge logotype that you've placed on the bottom right hand corner, its too intrusive and destroys the pristine nature of what you are trying to achieve. My suggestion is to simply include a small watermark logo of the leaf-like motif that you have, overlay it with about 80% transparency on all your images - that way we know where it comes from and at the same time, lets the picture do the talking.

P.S If you haven't got Chris' RRP beta (especially the flora and rocks) over at SC4D, make sure you grab it because it will assist you a great deal in developing these landscapes.

That riverside floral area looks beautiful. 4.gif Mapping, eh? Sounds interesting, I've never made a map and I always wondered where people got the greyscale satellite images... I'd love to see what you're up to.

I'm definitely glad that this doesn't mean the end of New Corsica. That was the first thing I thought when I saw that you had a new journal. It's looking really good so far!

    Update 1

Todays update is of my most popular map, Mercutia. We will be examining Part of Tile 1 , which is in the uppermost left hand corner of this image:

Wow, thanks for the great comment, I'm very pleased you like it!

Thanks! I actually do think you have visited New Corsica, as you are on my excel spreadsheet!

    NMUSpidey

Well, it won't replace New Corsica... anyways, thanks for the comment!

    joncjon

Ha, yeah! Hope you enjoyed the update!

    etherian

Hi Etherian, first of all thank you for the comment and I am very pleased to see that you believe that Perceptions is unique.

Secondly, thank you for that critique, although I did not intend to place that image on every picture as I too believe in not disturbing the natural appearance of each picture.

And finally, what exactly is Chris' RRP beta? Could you provide a link by chance? (I do have a BSC Exchange login)

    panthersimcity4

Why thank you! And to make maps, I personally don't use grayscales. I use my imagination! Which is probably what I take so long for each one. My current project has been in the works for a while now: a scale version of Long Island!

    Schulmanator

Great to hear I've caught your eye! I love creating nature and it makes for good eye-candy as well!

    edmonton_stinks

Thanks my friend! I just couldn't resist making another one! And its good to hear you like it so far!

That's it for now, tune in next time for another update!

Beautiful pictures there. Its amzing now the amount and variety of trees you can download at the moment which add loads to the game. Also the variety of flora and rocks have made making nature not labourious task but one which we all enjoy

Hey, awesome natural environment! Everything is so amazingly gorgeous, it looks like a giant greenhouse or something. Maybe you should rename this CJ the "Garden of Eden", hehe, jk. Keep it up, I'm loving this CJ!
