I want to use the NAM but i only have the original SC4, not deluxe.

are there any differences (extra lots, features and such) between SC4 and SC4 Deluxe, apart from the inclusion of the rush hour expansion pack?
I've just recently discovered a whole universe of non maxis stuff on sites like this one such as the NAM, but i can't use it because i only have the basic SC4. will things like the NAM work if i as stand-alone Rush Hour expansion pack, or will i have to also have SC4 Deluxe?

any help would be appreciated

You've already got standard (vanilla) SC4, so all you need to do is get the rush-hour expansion pack. SC4 vanilla + rush-hour expansion pack = SC4 deluxe edition!

Rush hour adds about 100 new buildings to the game and a heap more transportation options, plus a lot of bug-fixes, but you won't be able to download ANY game mods (NAM included) or BAT's until you have rush-hour. It's an absolute must if you want to have custom content, SC4 vanilla won't support it.

Well pretty much everthing you see here at Simtropolis is for SimCity4 Deluxe.  Do not be confused though, SC4 Deluxe is the EXACT same thing as SC4 with Rush Hour.  You should be able to buy Rush Hour for next to noting now, so it is a very good investment.

Rush hour is still on the shelves in the main stores here in Australia. You shouldn't have any trouble finding it, especially if you ask the store to order it for you.

In the US, Rush Hour isn't at any stores (SC4 Deluxe is still everywhere), and on the internet it costs more than Deluxe Depending on the prices you find, you might be better off just getting Deluxe, and then there's always...other methods...*cough*
