After being a moderator here for a little while now I feel it is time for some rules.

1. No PC vs Mac debates. These are happening way to often and they lead us nowhere. Both machines are good....end of subject.

I think that it is for now...if you want some saying into these rules please IM me with some suggestion and I will update them.

Thanks for everyones cooperation.

There is to many rules for this forum lol.9.gif

“The American city should be a collection of communities where every member has a right to belong. It should be a place where every man feels safe on his streets and in the house of his friends. It should be a place where each individual's dignity and self-respect is strengthened by the respect and affection of his neighbors. It should be a place where each of us can find the satisfaction and warmth which comes from being a member of the community of man. This is what man sought at the dawn of civilization. It is what we seek today.”

A new rule. Well, more of a guideline, really.

Be sure that you post Mac-specific issues. This is for your benefit, mostly. The posting of general gameplay issues should probably go in one of the other SimCity forums. You'll get a lot more responses there.

Threads that are posted here that should be somewhere else will be moved, naturally.

The only thing that I would like to add is that ALL the Mac users that frequent STEX owe a bit of gratitude to the designers that post their files on this site. They spend countless hours building these great lots and props.

Since we cannot build these on our machines, THEY are the ones that keep SC4 interesting by investing the time and effort and sharing them with us.

So, at least from me (and I hope a few other Mac Users), thanks for the great work.

Can anyone tell me how to unzip a STEX file so that it can be used in SC4? I've tried and tried, but no luck. Can anyone help me?

your mac should be able to open zip files natively, using something like archive utility. If that's missing download zipeg, the free version of stuffit, or any of inumerable free programs that are out there. If you are referring to .exe files (sometimes contained within the zips), you need to use a trial version of filejuicer.

Hi drummaster - might be a bit late but I've found that file juicer no longer works - and there are some other forums with alternates to filejuicer but that also don't work for me - i have partitioned my hard drive with bootcamp. i take the .exe files over on a USB drive, run the .exe files and install them onto the USB and then take them back and install them in the plugins older ont he mac side of the partition. it's a pain but it works.

    kind regards,

    mr howard
