having trouble need help fast

im moving files from my stex volume 2 cd over to my plugins folder, now will these work by just moving them over? i dont see how to unzip them bc they seem to already be that way. im going to sit here and wait since i have everything up already so a quick responce would be much appreciated!!!

When you say you 'moved' the files, do you mean you copied - pasted into your Plugins directly off the DVD, or did you go through the install routine on the DVD for each file? If you did the first, they are zip files (at least on mine they are) and will need to unzipped before placing them in the Plugins (check in each folder you copied). If the second, the files can be put into the Plugins and should show up in game. Hope this helps...

some were zipped but some just went over without being zipped. everything came out ok, however on some of my ploppables im not seeing any night lights coming on and i have grass instead of front parking lots. also i went through the steps to get the palm pack with the lite palms, but they dont light. this is myf irst time doing this so sorry if its simple. again, thanks in advance for the help!

For the night lights... Do you have Deluxe or Rush Hour and all the official updates? They're required for lights. If so, you might want to check the information on each file - some lots may not have lights.

Parking lots... Is it a few lots or widespread? Check game's graphic settings - need to be medium or high. Also, check for any required dependencies. Might be missing textures.

Suggestion... You might want to mention the specific lots you're having trouble with to get more specific help.

Palm Pack... If it is the one I'm familiar with, you might to be sure that the trees are 'powered' for them to light up.

i have the rush hour and delux setup. how do i acquire the official updates? also all the lots i see without lights are supposed to have lights.

parking lots show up when i plop just them. however i did the plopashop mod and it just has a grassy knoll outside infront. 

as for the palms that light up, it is powered so im curious why it wont light up.

the downloads that they say you must get from simcity.com, what are those? i cant find any specifics their. thanks

sorry i forgot to add that the lots that are not showing parking lots are those similar to the bestbuy lots, walmart supercenters and such. again thank you so much for the fast reply!

The official updates are available at the EA site here. You do need to register your game and log on. You will then see the 'update' link in the top right corner.

For the parking lot textures, you might need this. It is located at SC4 Devotion where you'll need to be registered (if you're not) on the LEX to download.

Yes, as CaptCity said - you need to get your official updates off of the official site - that he gave the link to.

Then, in addition - for night lights - you need to go to the "B.A.T." page on that same site;

(You don't actually need the B.A.T. itself to get night lighting -

but you do need an associated patch.)

scroll down to find the section "How to get the most out of your B.A.T. experience"

and find the "here" link to the SC4Update4BAT.exe file, download and/or run this file to

patch the game so it will show lights at night.

It also helps if the game is set to other than "Day Only".

(preferrably to cycle between day and night.)
