The technical term for a nosebleed is "epistaxis".

The technical term for bleeding to death is "exsanguination".

The technical term for losing several limbs is that it's "only a flesh wound".

[removed...even with a "mature language" warning, anything that is not PG-13 can not be posted on the site. Thanks! -cheese91]  When birds are in mating season, they like to peck at peoples heads. Running fast and hiding in cars keeps you safe!

Floccinaucinihinipilification is the act of valuing something as worthless.

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

These are supposed to be REAL random things.

So, it's possible to have multiple patches for the same game and play them all.

I.E.  You could have v1, v1.3 and v1.47382 of the same game and you could play any one you wanted.

Not exactly random and mainly appling to Americans, but seeing as 99% of Americans don't know this, I'll share. Impeachment is not removing a polititian from office, it's accusing them of braking the law.

The original line in the Rolling Stones song Sympathy for the Devil went "I shouted out,

Who killed John Kennedy?" Shortly after, Robert Kennedy was killed, and the line was switched to "I shouted out, Who killed the Kennedy's?"

An increasing number of bats (the kind that fly) in the DC area are rabid.  [link]

We can inspire others through witness so that one grows together in communicating. But the worst thing of all is religious proselytism, which paralyzes: “I am talking with you in order to persuade you.” No. Each person dialogues, starting with his and her own identity. The church grows by attraction, not proselytizing.    - Pope Francis

This is an urban myth. There is no such requirement codified into law, code, or regulation anywhere.

During WWII, Germany did sometimes use straight sections of the Autobahnen to land planes on, but that was never an intended purpose for them nor was it ever an intended purpose for the Interstates.

As one of the components of the National Highway System, Interstate Highways improve the mobility of military troops to and from airports, seaports, rail terminals, and other military bases. Interstate Highways also connect to other roads that are a part of the Strategic Highway Network, a system of roads identified as critical to the U.S. Department of Defense...

They do play a important role in National Defense. However you are correct that is a myth not a

fact.

Now on to my random fact.

The first novel ever written on a typewriter was Tom Sawyer.

Apparantly, whales can jump.

And my random fact is...

The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt was the biggest, heaviest, and most expensive fighter aircraft to be powered by a single piston engine.  Check out it's wikipedia page.

The asteroid Apophis will pass between Earth and the geostationary satellites on the 13th of April, 2029. It will pass again on the 13th of April 2036. It also was the first asteroid to have a Torino rating above 1, when it was upgraded to 4, as uncertainty in observations gave it a slight chance of hitting Earth.

Note: It probably won't. More data has reduced this possibility to a 1 in 45,000 chance of impact in 2036.

Contrary to popular belief, dog years do not go by seven's. They actually go by a complicated system, that seems slightly different where ever I see it listed. In one case, it had the dog years to human years go as follows.

1- 10.5

2- 21

3- 25

4- 29

5- 33

6- 37

7- 41...

They continue at intervales of 4.
