Looks like those city planners placed that commercial lot in the upper right corner the wrong way-
Not the sharpest tools in the shed are they? <ahttps://community.simtropolis.com/assets/emoticons/9.gif>

Dude, I'm watching your CJ for a long time and I must say that it's awsome! This is the most realistic region I have ever seen so far.

First Stage of Development in Lancaster-Wentworth
We now go to the twin cities of Lancaster and Wentworth. There are three sections of these cities being developed as part of an urban renewal program, and also to address the need for more housing.

The governments of both cities will be developing the waterfront in two stages. The first stage, shown below, is simply the laying out of streets. There isn't a whole lot to see during this stage, as the process generally consists of simple zoning and no detailing.

The second stage, beautification, will utilize PEG's waterfront details, and will take some time to work out (I am finding the wonderfully-rendered boardwalks a bit tricky to work with). But they are simply too good to ignore, so they will appear in the second phase of development for these towns (as a Digby BAT Building feature).

So let's have a look at the first stage of development in the twin cities! We'll start by orienting ourselves, in case you've forgotten where the twin cities are!

    /idealbb/files/Spot---Lanc-Went1.jpg

    And now our introduction panel.

    /idealbb/files/Devel_Lanc01.jpg

Starting with Lancaster, here is the developed area shown above as Area 1.

    /idealbb/files/Devel_Lanc01-1a.jpg

    /idealbb/files/Devel_Lanc01-1b.jpg

    /idealbb/files/Devel_Lanc01-1c.jpg

    /idealbb/files/Devel_Lanc01-1d.jpg

Across Hampton Strait, on Williams Island, the city of Wentworth is experiencing an even larger boom of development. There are two major sections along the coastline to the north and south of city that will transform from open, undeveloped land into a nice place to live and work. This is Area 2 on the map.

    /idealbb/files/Devel_Lanc01-2a.jpg

    /idealbb/files/Devel_Lanc01-2b.jpg

    /idealbb/files/Devel_Lanc01-2c.jpg

And to the south of the city, in Area 3.

    /idealbb/files/Devel_Lanc01-3a.jpg

    /idealbb/files/Devel_Lanc01-3b.jpg

    /idealbb/files/Devel_Lanc01-3c.jpg

The next stage of development for these areas will be beautification. That will allow us to zoom in and look at the nice little finishing touches that the cities intend to put on their newly developed areas. Instead of unadorned coastline, we'll see a bustling, attractive waterfront that will entice visitors from all over.

    Downtown Pictures
Some of you have been asking for downtown shots. I think what you are really looking for are some densely developed areas with large buildings and such. Well, there isn't any place like that in Digby right now! The area is only starting to develop.

I'll post a couple of pictures of our main city, Granton, below. You'll see just about all the downtown there is to see in Digby right now!

I'll reiterate what I've said before: Digby is developing extremely slowly. It will always be there, even if it takes time for me to post. But it won't ever be abandoned, so don't worry. Someday, there will be a densely populated area, but right now, there isn't even a need for a highway!

So be patient. Read the stories, familiarize yourself with the area. Move in and enjoy life by the sea.

Now, here are those downtown pics you want so badly!

    /idealbb/files/Spot-Granton6.jpg

The main downtown of Granton is at Russell and Main Streets. Although zoned as high density, none of that is develope there yet.

    /idealbb/files/Russell-Main.jpg

There is another core area just to the southeast, developing due to its proximity to the water. This area is mainly around Lorraine Rd and Beach St. This is the second area of Granton zoned for high density, but does not yet have that level of actual development due to lack of demand.

    That will change one day...

    /idealbb/files/Lorraine-Beach01.jpg

There you have it. The biggest, most bustling downtown you'll find in Digby! For now, anyway...

Awesome updates Lewellan. I'd like to point out that the population increase in Lancaster-Wentworth is 3,700 people - not 2,700 2.gif

41.gif Umm... this has probably been the most abrupt end to a city journal that I have ever seen, especially considering that this is one of the more creative CJ's out there. I really liked this one, and I really hope that this is an April Fool's joke.

That was the worst update ever lewellan. I mean, who wants to see the city? I'd rather see sims going through the streets, and living their lives!

    Okay, the Joke's Over!
Of course, this was a big joke. Blame Dirk. He inspired me to do it.

(I actually hated playing the Sims...there weren't any weekends, and there weren't any seasons...I hated that...)
