UK Localisation Mod - New Version 3.0

Hi all,

Just to let you know I'm continuing the sterling work by ill tonkso on the UK Localisation Mod and I've just uploaded version 3 to the STEX: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=19834

The changes are somewhat wholesale, albeit with attention paid to minor details.  So American spellings have been changed, news items given a British slant, and hopefully the whole game will have a British feel to it.

A few examples are:

Fire Department = Fire Brigade

Garbage Truck = Dustcart

Police Kiosk = Local Police Station

Soccer Field = Football Pitch

• Also, highways are motorways, elementary schools are primary schools, high schools are secondary schools, etc, but these changes have now been implemented everywhere.
• All American spellings such as "favor", "neighbor", "center", "meter", "color", etc have been changed.
• General Americanisms such as "sidewalk" (pavement), "trash"/"garbage" (waste/rubbish/litter/refuse), "bucks" (quid), "dollars", etc have been removed and replaced.
• Some of the news items and opening statements have been changed - one such change being a shameless plug for Simtropolis and SC4Devotion!
• Many other changes, including a few Easter Eggs in there!  Many English references - I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

Also, many other small details have changed, such as Chief Miranda Rights is now Chief Superintendent Jack Meadows (from The Bill), the Fire Chief is now call George Green (from London's Burning) and so on.  There's so many changes here that I can't list them all.  If you've downloaded and enjoyed ill tonkso's file - you'll love this file.  Thanks to ill tonkso for his help and for allowing me to use his file as a base in this upload.

Like I said on the upload page, this is cool even though I'm not British. It is funny when you think about it I guess, all the poor spelling and grammar that we're used to all those conjunctions like gonna or ain't or whatever) and say favor not favour, elevator not lift, so on and so forth. Good luck on this!

I have lived in the UK all my life and never used the word Dustcart for Garbage Truck. It would be Bin Lorry.
