This is my first city journal, hope you like!

This is the South-East section of the region

The South-West

The North-West

The North-East
thenortheast2qn5jz.jpg

This is where it all starts, a lonely flat land that has never seen any Sim life before!
landview1lr7js.jpg

A small group of Survivors from a Shipwreck miles off the coast swam to shore, the Jones' were very lucky that all of
them survived, they also had two others with them, a young boy about the same age as Susan Jones and his mother
shipwrecked2kq.jpg

They notice there are a lot of trees on the land, so the women go to chop some wood...
trees5jb8nk.jpg

While the men go hunting for some food!
animals7dq4us.jpg

The women find it hard at first but soon chop down quite a bit of wood
choppedtrees3oc7aj.jpg

When the men get back some of the wood is used for a fire and the meat is cooked. After the dinner
they talk for only a few minutes before going to sleep for the first time in this strange new land!

The next day, they woke up to the same scene, nothing but trees and water. They went through the same process again, the women chopped the trees while the men hunted for food
    woodchopping8nc4yu.jpg

They used only a little bit of wood that day for the fire, this cycle went on for days, the days turned to weeks and the weeks turned to months. Soon, they came to an agreement, they would build a house out of the wood they had stored up!
    planning6pi3kw.jpg

They all enjoyed their new house and they began to think that this island wasn't all that bad. For months, they lived in their house until the police eventually found them, they had been searching for almost 10 months! All their family rushed to the land and soon their was hundreds of them!
    theyarefound7lc2hy.jpg

And so, the people returned to their homes and for months their camp laid abandoned . That was, until Bob Jones brought it up over dinner, he told his family of his dreams for the land, he wanted to build a new civilization stretching for miles. He was to call the land Fateland, because it was his fate that he ended up there in the first place.

For almost a year, he struggled to raise money and he eventually raised 500,000 simoleons. He and his family returned on a ship. Once they docked, Bob Jones got down to business, he had to plan how he was going to build the town
    desertedhouse3es7jo.jpg

Firstly, he zoned a small residential area, people moved in straight away
    peoplemovein2iv8xl.jpg

He then zoned an industrial area to provide jobs
    firstindustrialarea3jn5bj.jpg

The population began to expand, soon reaching 200 citizens. The power was supplied by a natural gas power station and once enough money was available, a water station was installed, giving the population what it most needed. A small commercial district was created and a few farms, a small school helped the younger sims and a health centre provided help for everyone. The population soon reached 500 citizens.

There were huge celebrations when the first port was built in the city, helping to bring in more sims and giving out some trade from the industries!

    Heres a small update

On New Years Eve, news came from the Jones' house, the city was to be named Jonesville21.gif
    announcement5pb6rk.jpg

Soon, the first larger residential buildings started popping up
    largerresidentialbuildings9aq5.jpg

To accompany the new arrivals, new jobs had to be created, Commercial estates were now starting to appear
    firstbigcommercialestate6eb5qq.jpg

To stop the roads getting full, Bob Jones used some forward planning and built a rail system
    newrailsystem7fs0sy.jpg

The port was soon overflowing and a new one had to be built, industry got a little bit of a boost from this new, more efficient port
    newport1ix0ta.jpg

The city boosted quickly up to 8,000 citizens in the next few years
    firstpopulationboost5ry7va.jpg

The first coastal area were starting to develop
    firstcoastalcommunity4zr0lx.jpg

The first high tech industry were starting to arrive in the town
    firsthightech7tr7tz.jpg

As the population reached 10,000 it was decided that a City Hall should be built
    thecityhall3oy5mx.jpg

The first Highway was built soon after, it was all part of Bob Jones' forward planning scheme to get ready for city growth!

I like what you have done so far.  Looks like a great region to build on as well.

Yes, the max size for pics is still 800 X 600 regardless of where you host it.  I might also mention that the pic in your sig is too big too.  The max size there is 300 X 50.  Thought I would let you know before an admin deletes it.  They may also get your CJ pics if you don't resize them.

Anyway, great start and I'll be looking for more.

    Regards,

Howdy YoppaDo. even though the images are hosted off site, 'tis preferable to have them sized at 800x600 - otherwise, this causes a scrolling issue for those who like to read the text accompanying the pictures. however, i'm glad to see you will be fixing it tomorrow, so i will leave them for now...thanks very much 44.gif

all of the images have been changed to 800 x 600, and it wasn't too difficult, like I thought it would be, I just downloaded a resizing program, so it was easy. Hope you all enjoy!

Jonesville is getting bigger and more established

A new City Park started production giving Sims some relaxation from the busy, city life.
    thepark8zu3vr.jpg

The Coastal area has been updated and made better, a small estuary was accidentally made while changing the land shape, and now serves as a tourist attraction!
    bettercoastalplazas3aw2pk.jpg

On the other side of town, the old port is getting a facelift and an extension
    biggertoristport5jk9ne.jpg

Bob Jones was offered a Mayor's house but instead, he renovated his current house, he still made all his city decisions in the original camp hut though.
    thenewjoneshouse9ga7jl.jpg

A new Country Club and University were welcomed to the town, along with a Private School, this upset some of the less posh Sims though.
    newcountryclubanduniversity0hw.jpg

The Tourist Port continued to expand down the coast until it got to a housing area
    expandingtouristport9fw7ax.jpg

The City continued to expand along the new Highway, some big commercial buildings were starting to pop up as the population approached 30,000!!

Sorry for the lack of update, I've been really busy. Heres some more pictures of the expansion of Jonesville, it will be the last one that is for Jonesville only.

As Jonesville's 30th Birthday was being celebrated, there was a sense they would not be the only city for long.
    30thbirthday9mx7yz.jpg

Suburban areas were beginning to appear in the north of the city.
    suburbanareas6mv5pp.jpg

The rubbish from the landfill was being moved away to the new waste to energy plant, so that development could continue.
    landfillmovement1hg.jpg

The farms felt under pressure from the commercial and industrial sectors and they felt that they no longer fitted into the city and they soon moved away from Jonesville.
    farmsmovingaway6xi.jpg

They were soon replaced by low density houses and shops.
    farmreplacements4tz.jpg

Meanwhile, northwards, the Tourist Port was expanding again.
    northwardtouristexpansion7kx8m.jpg

    And it just kept expanding.

Susan Jones was now 38 and she decided she wanted to run a city of her own, she wanted a big city, one that was more successful than her fathers. She called it Centralberg!
    thestartofcentralberg9eq6lj.jpg

One of the things she thought was wrong with her fathers city was the highway system, she thought it was hard to access, so she changed hers to elevated highway as soon as it entered the city.
    elevatedhighway9ze8sy.jpg

Downtown had great business from the regions citizens and it expanded quickly, the city was 20,000 citizens strong after only 2 years
    biggerdowntown8ad8yk.jpg

The regions first airport was first built, it had to be upgraded a lot to keep up with the citys fast growth
    firstairport8hh5za.jpg

The regions first Skyscraper appeared soon
    firstskyscraper9ls5si.jpg

Look how long that train is, lol
    longtrain0sf4pz.jpg

A big shopping area was planned to distinguish the citys very successful commercial districts
    newmallplans0rx5eu.jpg

After only 5 years, the city was 60,000 citizens strong, and there was a lot more to do. This was almost twice the size of Jonesville! Susan Jones had proved herself as a worthy mayor!

Ok, heres the next update. Theres a lot on this one page, huh?

    downtownjonesville6mj5mp.jpg

The centre of Downtown was filled with skyscrapers. You can also see two stadiums, one is the home teams (The Jonesville Jaguars) playing ground. The other is an international area for all sports and it has a roof that can open and close whenever needed
    downtownskyscrapers0ip5gq.jpg

Surrounding the main area of Downtown are smaller office and shops
    downtownshopsandoffices0nn2vc.jpg

Some more commercial skyscrapers in the northern area of Downtown
    morecommercialskyscrapers9nk0r.jpg

With so many jobs coming from Downtown, more Sims were able to move in. Big Residential developments were being created
    residentialskyscrapers4jg0ri.jpg

    thenorthernsuburbs7kj1yh.jpg
The Northern Suburbs grew further and lots of communities were being created

After many years, the landfill that was stopping the northern development was cleared, a small garbage disposal area was created in the industrial district and was a lot more efficient
    garbagefacilities5qo7gd.jpg

The Industrial district was now able to expand, industry and trade was now thriving in Jonesville
    expandingindustry8lb1ub.jpg

Jonesville has transformed from its small town roots to a small city in a matter of years
