major graphical glitch

Ive recently got SC4 deluxe. However, ive installed it, and when I start it up it normally displays the intro's.

But when I get to the region screen its just normal until I scroll around the map. It gets all "striped out"  untill I hold still with the camera.

Also: in the city screen(normal game mode), this happens and the lines stay there untill I change zoom level.

It is really irritating me. So anyone knows a fix?

Ive already applied the patch and changed all of the graphical detail levels.

This are my sys specs:

Intel Pentium 4 2,4gHz

GeForce FX5200(it is supported by the game)

512MB ram

Ive added an image of how it looks when I scroll around 2.gif

Thanks in Advance(if you can help me)

I'd be interested in knowing what causes it to, because it tortured me for years until I bought a new card.

Bad graphics card, possibly. Check to see if screwy graphics happen in other games, and that can give you a better indication if it is indeed the graphics card. If you can, run direct-x diagnostic (dxdiag.exe) or some other hardware checker. It also may be entirely possible that the card you have is not playing nice with the game, despite the blessings given to you by EA. With all the strange stuff that happens with SC4, I wouldn't be too surprised...

Hope this helps...

The region files may been corupped.

Did this problem happen to the other regions? If it did, then it may be the graphic card that is causing the problem.

I've had something like that happen to me while playing another game. Turned out my fan fell off my videocard and it was overheating. The thing literally melted off the spindle and dangled there... it happened to my geforce 4400 and more recently to my 6600gt (which I did overclock a little). Either way, it is definitely related to your graphic card, and I would make sure firstly, it's fan is still on (lol) and/or that the computer is getting enough airflow through it.

well, i havnt tested it whith other region files. but It also happens when im in city view.

And about the heating: when I started the game up this morning(after a night of cooling down at the cold window 2.gif ), It also gave this corruption.(and ive got passive cooling on my graphics card, so no fan to fall off 3.gif).

Further: Im a pretty big fan of games, and i've never experienced anything like graphical corruption in any other games(exept some of those 8-bits coloured DOS games 3.gif)

Im running at 1024x768, and at 800x600 this also happens(I've tested it)

you need more RAM...usually graphic glitches like that occur when there is not enough RAM available for the game...i still occasionally see that, and i have 2GB of RAM built in, 4GB of virtual RAM, and 4GB of readyboost RAM...the game is a memory hog, and when there isn't enough memory, the graphics go crazy...

its definetly something my graphics card though..

Ive put it on software rendering ATM, and now I dont have the graphical corruption.

But I really would want to play it with my Vid card, because software rendering is a bit low Quality(as you probably all know)

its wierd, ive had the same thing happen AFTER i upgraded to a mroe powerful graphics card. Could it be that the card is too new??? I always thought this was a dumb idea, but i upgraed my RAM and my graphics card at the same time and only then did i get this problem, so i dont think its the ram

I had this the past two updates of the NAM.  Must be a missing dependency or a bad reffrence in the codeing!
