Hello Callbat - finally, a place for us Brits to gather. Since it's Sunday today, i'll have the good ol' Sunday Roast.

Chicken tikka masala is fast becoming a national dish. Maybe you could add it to the menu?

And I hope you have a way to "dispose" of happy-slapping chavs hanging around outside...*glares at them*

Always wondered what British cuisines was, since there are no restaurants now I know, lots and lots of MEAT!

Back from a busy day at the orchestra........

Yes,Stormont the one that takes place in Sheffield. It's quite a gruesome watch but it's such a good film.

It's a very good movie, one thing I noticed is that every scene after the nuclear attack gets progressively quieter, showing the nature of a post-holocaust society, no culture, no nationalism, no fellow man, just survival.

    seemurray:

    Black Pudding, by Wikipedia.....

"Black pudding or less often blood pudding is a sausage made by cooking blood with a filler until it is thick enough to congeal when cooled. The term blood sausage (first attested in 1868) is a North American term that may be a translation from German "Blutwurst". Blood sausage has become a useful term for similar blood-based solid foods around the world.

Pig or cattle blood is most often used; sheep and goat blood are used to a lesser extent. Blood from poultry, horses and other animals are used more rarely. Typical fillers include meat, fat, suet, bread, sweet potato, barley and oatmeal...........Black pudding is usually served as part of a traditional full breakfast in England, Scotland and Ireland........."

Wrightguy your brandy is served. Enjoy 2.gif

Skyliner, Aussie dishes at a British restaurant? 22.gif

Please, there is a difference you know. Aussies=Orange    Britons=White 3.gif (or Indian, or Asian, or African, heck, everything but South American.)

Okay, Fish and Chips for you and a Cornish Meat Pie? try the Bangers and Mash, you'll love it if you try 2.gif

*sits down with the rest of you lot*

Alright, the name of the game is Mornington Crescent.

My opening move will be the famous Piccadilly Circus opening move of '64.

    Next move....

Eeeerm.... Skyliner I think Aussie/Asian would be a bit too foreign. (It is a British pub, you know)

As you can see, all of my "foreign" dishes don't actually leave European gastronomy. "Tapas" are Spanish food and Spaghetti is Italian. And steak and chips is what they serve in  France to all the tourists 17.gif (or that was my experience anyway)

Thanks  jacky if you feel like a quick bite I'm always here.

hmmm  perhaps I should change the price then, eh jayo? 3.gif

Sorry, I got it off some website with "national averages" so, who knows if they were correct lol.

I always keep a few candies around so here's your snickers mate.

I hope you enjoy that roast.

Tomorrow night (more like all day), I'll be at a rehearsal/concert so I trust you all to not ruin the place while I'm away 3.gif

    .........30.gif

    Make yourselves at home everyone!

    Spanish%20Paella.jpg

     Paella Night!

When I moved to America, I realised how clueless people here are about the greatness of Spanish food, so tonight I have made a huge Paella.

Paella generally consists of Spanish rice with saffron, which is arguably the most important component of any Paella, without Saffron, it is not Paella, Different meats, including Chicken, Chorizo, and also seafoods like prawns, Mussels and clams all cooked in a large shallow flat pan. It tastes lovely so why not have some tonight 2.gif

Prepared by yours truly (yes I can really cook all of these things lol)
