The last time I played sim city was 9 years ago. I'm ready to try SimCity 4.

I'm on Windows Vista Home Premium.

Could as many people as possible give their recommendations about which version of SC4 I should buy

Rush hour - or - Delux Edition

???

Which is the best? Multiple opinions please.

And running Sim City 4 Rush Hour    - OR -   Deluxe Edition WILL RUN ON VISTA IN COMPATIBILITY MODE RIGHT????

No difference. Deluxe incorporates both SC and RH (RH is an addon to SC).

Buy deluxe. RH is an EP, You would have to buy vanilla first.

SC4 DE will work straight away on vista no compatibilty mode needed, I have Vista and it runs better than it did on xp.

Exactly. Deluxe is the original game AND Rush hour.

If you only buy Rush Hour and do not have the original SimCity 4, you will not be able to play it.

However, if you already have SimCity 4, only getting Rush Hour would be OK.

I don't know if it is $19.99 or $29.99 but I seen a "Direct Download" for sim city 4 w/ the price next to it from some website but I forgot. I googled and can't find. It had a dark background with "Direct Download" button and the price was next to it.

Does anyone know where I can buy a downloadable version of Sim City 4?

I answered this question in your other topic you started that is just like this one but since you created two people are answering all over the place. I believe you can get it from EA's online store.

EDIT: annain, 

If EA does not allow it to be downloaded from their site it raises the question that from other sites it could be an illegal copy of the game. Every site that I saw it on looked suspicious and I would never assist in copy right infringement and since no one else has been able to reply to you all day I am guessing that no one else has been able to find a legit downloadable version either.

I found a lot of sites that sell full versions of games with "Direct download"

Again - I'm buying it, not downloading a free version.

They dont have SC4 at the store and I don't want to wait 5 days for it to arrive + can't afford express delivery.

I just found a site SELLING SC4 downloadable version but it is only for MAC operating systems.

Well, there is a chance that the downloaded SC4 you buy is infected with computer infections and/or rigged with program bugs. Plus, if you have a slow or unstable internet connection, the download would take forever. Try checking other stores. When I was looking for the SC4 I found a store that had a SC4 game, but worker couldn't find it. At the end, my dad found Wal-Mart selling SC4 game for $14.99 (I think).

buy it on disc, if anything goes wrong you always have a hard copy and can get refunds/replacements. Also downloads take long time.

Sc4 works on vista and sometimes it doesn't. You might as well buy a game, its only 20 bucks.
