Only on Simtropolis would you find a thread like this...29.gif

You'll be asking me what I had for breakfast soon, in minute detail.

Just orange juice usually, out of the carton (ah the single life...). Occasionally I'll pick up a donut on the way to work.

Hey, it's 3 AM over here, and I have to have something to do as I stare blankly into my computer screen, since I dont feel like sleeping yet. Silence, Knaves! Besides, that thread is kinda old.

    LOL masher 18.gif

Isn't it late over there as well?? Or do you live elsewhere.

Anyway, before I get banned for disturbing the peace and cluttering the forums with junk, 48.gif I normally have oatmean and milk for breakfast. No, I don't like it either, but I've got a very discerning mother when it comes to nutrients and cancer causing substances. 3.gif

    But mum...
I know it's not nice, but it's low GI, so it lasts longer!  18.gif

I rarely have breakfast at all. I can't eat anything until its been at least 2 hours after I woke up. If I do have breakfast its usually eggs fried or boiled. Sometimes cereal and oatmeal.

Usually I skip breakfast, but on those rare occasions, I prefer a lumberjack breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage, and the like.  Milk... can't forget the milk... straight from the llama. 47.gif

Most mornings I will have a bowl of cereal and a glass of juice. I prefer apple juice, but also have orange and grape. I eat a wide variety of cereals, from pure sugar to whole grain. (whatever is in the cabinet, mostly) Every now and then I will have eggs, bacon, and toast. If I am running late I will grab a pop-tart or a glass of instant breakfast.

A bowl of hot oat meal with butter, milk and brown sugar. Hot chocolate.

I normally have a bowl of Frosted Flakes or Honey Bunches of Oats for breakfast, with a bottle of Kirkland Signature Drinking Water. On rare occasions I'll have a donut left over from the night before. If I get to to late I'll fry up some eggs and make a breakfast burrito (My version consists of eggs and a warmed up tortilla).

People who skip breakfast miss the best meal of the day. After sleeping, you need something to stoke your fires. Coffee alone is not enough. To amplify my earlier post, my wife and I start the day with an eye-opener of hot chocolate. This is a trick I learned on my trip to France in the 1970's and have stuck to it ever since.

Oatmeal is easy and nukes in about 2 minutes for two servings.

On days when we don't have oatmeal, we have bacon, with or without eggs, toast, jam, other things that we want to have. We are retired, so sleep late and stay up late. Often for us, breakfast is really brunch. If it is brunch, we have a snack later in the afternoon. Dinner/Supper is our big meal, and we usually have a snack going to bed around 2 a.m.

I am diabetic, and diet controlled at that. My blood sugar has been normal for a long time, even my three month glyceride tests have been OK. Notwithstanding the Diabetes Soceity's guidelines on meal times, I get along just fine.

Oh, yes, I neglected to say that I use artificial sweeteners almost everywhere, except I use demerara sugar on my oatmeal. I also avoid fats. The butter we use is President's Choice margarine which is equivalent to Becel.
