I've been trying to figure out for a while now, why is one of the confrences named after Don Cherry? I can understand Orr, but Cherry? Why not Bobby Hull or someone. Not complaining, just curious about the choice there.

Because I choose Cherry for pure well me-ness and actually the Orr Confrence was spawned after the Cherry confrence name as a nod to the old prospects game that they used to coach every year. Yeah Hull,Sittler,Bossy,Messier,Lafluer,Dryden,Parent,Abel,Lindsey,Harvey,Bower,geez I could go on I think thats why I ended up with Cherry he is after all a great Hockey Ambassador(well North American Ambassador)

Seems to be an interesting race to see which Emperors will make it into the All-Star game. From the stats, I think there are 5 guys on the roster that could make it, so will be interesting if 3 go and which 3 it will be.

Just two games ago, the Stars reached a milestone: their first hat-trick of the season.  Per-Johan Axelsson scored three out of four goals for Marshall in their 4-3 win against the River City Otters, right at home.  Everybody who heard of the hat trick thought that Kovalchuk had done it.  But he did not score any goals during that game.  Tonight's game was a 4-3 overtime loss; top star Ilya Kovalchuk scored all of the Star's goals.

"I've scored many goals against many teams in many places at many times, but it's time that I've gotten one of these," exclaimed a smiling Kovalchuk to our press last night after the game against the National City Gulls.  The 23-year-old player had just gotten Marshall their second hat trick of the season just two games after the first.  After scoring his third goal in the third period, the crowd actually started throwing their hats onto the hockey arena!  It was a wonderful sight seeing all those multicoloured dots dropping from the seating and onto the arena; the event lasted for a good 10 minutes, somewhat delaying the game before continuing on.  The game, however, ended up being a loss for the Stars after Mark Bell scored against Chris Osgood in overtime.  The Stars remain ahead of the Stingers after their 4-2 win and Kovalchuk remains two goals behind Marian Gaborik, but I have no doubt he will regain his status with the most goals in the league soon.quote>

not in the STHL either HE's actually the backup in AIF he started the year and struggled and I noticed when Biron on AIF started he was what the team needed so Emery is the back up there as well.

and yes XD for the millionth time I  saw my NHL team's goalie gave up a holy bouncer from the other goalline in a game that the Leafs won lol sensative about it nah not at all thats the problem with living in Detroit every single person at work for the last couple days has had to remind me about it especially since I'm a goalie too,thats alright I'll just keep reminding them about their upcomming choke job in the playoffs
