Vista + IE problems?

Ok, so I got a new computer with Windows Vista Home Premium about a month ago. I've noticed a few programs having issues with Vista, but I've gotten by. Luckily I can play SC4, though it quits every now and then so I constantly save...

I've been having problems with Internet Explorer. Sometimes, after I've been using it for a while, It will have issues with right clicking and/or opening up new tabs/windows and stuff. I dunno, it's kinda weird, kinda hard to describe. I'm not too sure if this is a problem with the computer, or if it's just with IE.

Anyone else know what I'm talking about? Is there a way to fix this?

It's annoying because it will prevent me from doing stuff sometimes. While it's happening, I can't download anything from the stex because nothing happens when I click on 'download'. Since I can't open new tabs (and sometimes windows, I think), I'm stuck browsing in one window...

Vista is EVIL!

You are going to want to download the latest version of IE, wich is 7. And dont use IE, use firefox 3.gif

I would not go with vista until some service packs come out, and it is more stable.

Try adjusting your firewall and/or popup blocker settings, but in the long run, trash IE, go with Opera or Firefox.

I have had login problems on some sites with Firefox, it's a useful alternative but will likely never be my default browser. IE with Vista will have problems juggling too many open windows and tabs. I think it's just because Vista is a system mega-hog, and requires so much of the available resources just to keep itself running. There are Vista defenders but IMHO it's a flying crock of monkey poop. I have considered running a dual boot with XP, but the setup is a pain in the a**. IE is the standard, but has feet of clay.

I have Vista and I've experienced no problems with IE. Everything has been running fine since I upgraded.

For those websites that don't work as well with Firefox, they created the addon called "IE Tab."  I highly suggest you download it.  I've never needed to use IE for anything since I got it - not even Microsoft Update.

As for running a dual-boot computer, it's actually ridiculously easy to do if the drivers exist for running XP on that hardware.  My guess is that they do since Vista is hellspawn and no one in their right mind would make Vista-only hardware.  Seriously though, dual-booting is so easy that I can probably talk you through it even without seeing your computer.  I set up my first dual-boot by accident if that gives you any idea as to how easy it is. 3.gif

I had forgotten about this thread, I haven't yet gotten a copy of XP to start with.

Try your local computer store.  They might have one and discount it.  Go for XP Pro if you can.  Better tool set.
