I really do enjoy the game, but I like this style of game.

I could see how a hardcore SC4 fan could absolutely depiese the game...it's totally different.

I made a tiny city with only about 7 things on a island. (four community gardens, a little park, a soccer field, a power plant and a sleep tube facility, plus I also put a tiny totalitarian statue on the empty mainland to help power the sleep tubes.

Interestingly enough, the city was completely succesful and peaceful, and everyone was happy 4.gif I actually grew to really like the little peaceful town and love to just watch the residences watch around.

But you couldn't make tiny cities like that in previous SimCity games.

So I like the game, my biggest issues are frame rate and performance problems and the absolutely huge differences from previous SCs.

miezumike, i don't think so. I had 60k + people city and it lagged much, for my system which is mid-high ATM, so probably it will do for the rest of the PCs aswel

Hi

Just thought i would comment about scs.

Yes the performance issues are bad for a big city and i miss the way zones develop but i really like the game for some reason. it looks nice, plays well (fun) and sucks me in for hours of play which simcity4 never did, maybe im not enough of a hardcore simcity fan to enjoy sc4 but the amount of buildings available to use and the different ways you can set the city up (fun city etc) is great.

I like it for the people that dont, i think your missing out on something.

Anyway a little pic of my third city about 3hours into build.

Thanks

Thats not too bad but plopping each building by hand I get tired fast. And since I don't like repeats, it takes even longer to find new buildings for each plop. SCS also freezes on my way more often than SC4 does and that is saying something. I am not happy with SCS. The graphics are great but not much else. Another thing, you can zoom in for much better detail than SC4 but you cannot zoom out very far so you can only see part of your city unless it is very small.

I loved Ceasar II, and in many ways this reminds me of it, in a nicer packaging. I really like building small towns, trying to keep everyone happy, balancing the different energies. Though I would have liked to see the possibility to zone too. And see the buildings grow depending on which kind of energies there were sufficient enough off. And the buildings changing when the energies changes. That would have made a truly interesting game.
