    Moving on to....

    Porrentruy

    Current population: ~11,000

    This is a small town northwest of Delemont. It's connected by a freeway. The town is densely packed and surrounded by farms, hills, and forests.

    We'll start off with some farms to the east:

    Porrentruy-Nov11271196906163.jpg

    Coming in from Delemont, you can take the road or the freeway:

    Porrentruy-Nov15271196906181.jpg

    The main east entrance to Porrentruy:

    The Transjurane Freeway on the south side:

    Exiting into an industrial area:

    Center city with a church:

    The north side of downtown, near the border with France:

    And finally, an overview of Porrentruy:

    Hope you enjoyed. I will post a regional shot soon.

    Nice update! Ahhhh... originally from Switzerland, okay! I'm waiting to see Zurich, Bern, Geneva and my hometown... Lausanne, also if you have some question, don't hesitate...

    It's funny, I'm swiss and I build north american cities and you're from the US and make swiss cities... lol

    Cheers!

    @2nerdy4u: Thanks!

    @Shanna: I appreciate it.

    @bbfan02: Thanks again!

    @Callbat: Are most European highways asphalt rather than concrete? Also, if I do install the asphalt mod, will it automatically change my current highways to asphalt or will I have to implode them and start over? Thanks for the suggestions btw.

    @suplado!: Sorry the pic is so small, my region isn't very large yet.

    @BAT56: Thanks, and I'll keep that in mind.

    @sebby07: Thank you, I'm trying to keep my cities as realistic as possible. These are smaller cities right now, but I hope to have at least 400k in Bern, Geneve, and Basel and hopefully over 500k in Zurich. We will see.

    Thanks to everyone for their comments. I will have another update coming in the next few days. Right now I need to go study for an accounting exam I have tomorrow - it will be tough. Wish me luck!

    hmm...Im not sure I do not remember if it automatically changes it im pretty sure it does, yes nearly all european motorways are paved in asphalt.... they look prettier than those big, hulking concrete american motorways.. (no offense to anyone9.gif)

    But trust me your motoerways will look better 100% 9.gif

    Ok, so after my wonderful accounting exam this morning I decided to do an update. Without further ado, let's meet....

    Le Noirmont

    Current population: ~3,700

    Le Noirmont is a small town south of Porrentruy and southwest of Delemont. It's surrounded by fields and forests, being more rural than even Porrentruy. This town is just kilometers from the French border, and, therefore, has a heavy influence from France.

    Overview of Le Noirmont:

    Farms north of the city + water tower:

    LeNoirmont-Jun3141197062839.jpg

    Coming into the town from the north:

    LeNoirmont-May25141197062813.jpg

    The center of town:

    LeNoirmont-Oct25141197063084.jpg

    A wider view of central Le Noirmont:

    LeNoirmont-May17141197062778.jpg

    south side of the town:

    LeNoirmont-Apr12141197062683.jpg

    southeastern industrial area:

    LeNoirmont-Jun14141197062884.jpg

    wider shot of the town of Le Noirmont:

    LeNoirmont-Jun30141197062946.jpg

    farms to the southwest of the city:

    LeNoirmont-Jun21141197062916.jpg

    And finally, an expanded regional shot of Switzerland:

    Switzerland-1197064496.jpg

    I hope you guys enjoyed, and tell me what you think!

    PS: @Callbat: I now have the Euro highways with asphalt. Thanks for the suggestions.

    Thanks for all your compliments! In my earlier update I accidentally posted the wrong Swiss regional pic. I have now corrected that, but will post the updated pic in this post too for reference.  Next upcoming city: La Chaux-de-Fonds.

    Wow! You have done a really good job on this city! cant wait to see those motorways! 2.gif

    also, your farmland looks really nice, but you should try to cover up those jagged edges with plopable mayor mode trees.....

    check my siggy for ideas

    So last night I was working on La Chaux-de-Fonds and my computer crashed. No worries b/c all other cities are fine. I also didn't really like how it was turning out anyways. I was having trouble with the GLR. That is a ***** of a tool to use. It definitely needs some improvements. Plus, LCdF doesn't have GLR, I was just being creative. O well.

    @Callbat: I will be sure to add more trees around the edges. It will look more realistic.

    @OffTopic: Thanks!

    @SC4Fanatic: Thank you!

    @2nerdy4u: I'm using Kwakelaar's farms. His are the most accurate for this setting.

    @trev1b: Thanks! I will be working on this alot over Christmas break.

    @bbfan02: Thank you sir! I try!

    Geat work again, the region is coming along great. One tip, you might want to turn off the vehicle icons in the game - these pics are too nice to have little blue circles floating around in them!

    also, in your last update there is a picture after the words "farms to the southwest of the city" where can I get that little cottage in the bottom right hand corner of the pic? 9.gif
